Where's the proof that a god impregnated anyone of any age in any country throughout history? Oh, it's in the bible, isn't it?
It's perhaps worth remembering that less than 500 years ago, the church - gatekeepers to the truth and guardians of His holy word - locked up a great man for insisting that the earth orbited the sun, not the other way round.
That wasn't correct, and perhaps the literal truth isn't to be found in a collection of folk tales that have been edited into an example of god's work on earth, a folio of dubious provenance.

so what an 18 yr old would suit you better. Traditionaly someone having reached puberty was mature and would get married then.
The only reasoon 18 is more in keeping with you now is because society says so. quite possibly 200 yrs from now everyone who ever got married at the age of 18 would be percieved as a pedophile.

As a matter of fact God didn't choose her when she was 13, 14 or whatever other age, but He chose her from all eternity to become (at the proper time according to the customs of the place) the mother of the Messiah.
He bestowed on her the fullness of His graces ("Hail full of grace"), and made her the masterpiece of his creation to be the worthy tabernacle of His only begotten son.

Culturally, during that time and in that place, girls married when they became "able to bear children". For most girls, this would be around the age of 13. A girl was considered a woman at that age. That is why many historians believe Mary was around the age of 13 when she became engaged to Joseph.
There was nothing perverted about it. Just because it's not our culture today doesn't make it wrong.

Not the message you think, because you'd need to be more of a scholar of that time to understand the differences. People led very different lives and married and gave birth at different acceptable times than nowadays. Mary was chosen because she was herself sinless. If she had been married, it would have defeated the intention for her to give a virgin, sinless birth. If she were married she would have been sleeping with her husband. No one would have believed the child was anyone's but his. Have you even looked into any of it, or was it just a question designed to irritate people who believe. If so, I can just ignore it.

Well first of all bac in the day, gettin married and having kids at those type of young ages wasnt so out of place, I mean I think it was King Henry the 8th married a 12 year old, but that wasnt the point of your question. lol. Well I think that the Lord chose her because he needed some one pure, and innocent, and there is nothing like the innocense of youth

Firstly, she was not raped she offered her free consent in place of all humanity. How old she was is debated she was a virgin because God is fertility itself and don't need nature to do His work.
Besides she was predestined to be the mother of God since eternity in the same decree that predestined the Incarnation of God Himself.
For Him who created the universe it's no big deal in being concieved by and born of a virgin.
btw the Immaculate Conception refers to Mary herself being concieved full of grace and without sin in her mother's womb.

Why not ask Him? Why would any of these people know?
If you are alluding to a 13 year old giving birth...wake up. You are comparing this to our societies standards...not to that of 2000 years ago. In the day when people lived only 30 years, it actually made sense for women to reproduce when they could.
