not the usual fairy tales in the likes of snow white, cinderella, sleeping beauty and others. but has a similar redeeming value maybe in a present setting.

Modern fantasy sometimes uses a fairy tale and retells it. Jane Yolen did a great job with Briar Rose and made a Holocaust novel out of Sleeping Beauty.
