Although some people who call themselves, Christians, may say the Bible isn't to be taken literally, others will say the opposite.

Let me ask you a question. If you don't even accept the possibility that the Bible may be true, why are you asking this question?

Yes, there are different translations but early texts in the original languages are readily available. As far as what Christians call, The Old Testament, the Jews were and are scrupulous about copying the text exactly. One of the Dead Sea Scrolls had the entire book of Isaiah. The scholars found that it was the same, word for word, as the Hebrew texts we already have. The Dead Sea Scrolls were written about 2000 years ago.

There are problems with how the Bible is translated. That is why it is desirable to have a good concordance so that you can look up the meaning of the words in their original language. A good online reference is, www.blueletterbible.com. Using it it is easy to find out the original meanings of the words in the original language.

When you say that, "nobody anywhere, anytime can say for certain there is any truth in the Bible", you are not being logical. One of the principles of logic is that you can't prove a negative. Also, for you to say that and be correct, you would have to know everything there is to know to be able to refute some one like myself who knows from personal experience that many, many things in the Bible are true. I'm not saying that there is anything in the Bible that is untrue, only that I don't know that "everything" is true from personal experience.

God bless you for seeking what is really the truth and not merely what people say is the truth. If you become very knowledgeabe about what is in the Bible, you will come to see that what many Protestant Ministers and Catholic Priests "say" the Bible says are either not in the Bible or are gross misrepresentations of what it says. This is also true of people who say the Bible is not true. The Bible is the only reliable, original source of of the teachings of Moses, The Prophets, Jesus, and Jesus's apostles. Although, Mark and Luke were not Jesus's original 12 apostles, they were desciples of his apostles.

By the way. if you read Psalm 22 and then read the account of Jesus's crucifixion in Matthew, you will find that they are identical, with even some of the words the same. Psalm 22 was written 1000 years befor Jesus was crucified.

If you investigate the truth of the Bible, not just taking someone Else's word for it. You will find out that it was found to be remarkably accurate. When we found the Qumran scrolls in the 1940's They were the oldest scrolls that we had ever found(from the 2nd century). When they started translating them they found that they confirmed the Bibles that we had translated many years ago with very very slight changes or differences. Considering the age of all of these translations this was nothing short of a miracle.

Newer translations into English do not disagree with each other. They are simply attempts to render the Bible into language that the common man can read easily. Each new translation takes into consideration the other translations available and does not alter the meaning of the Bible. I can read "The Message" Bible and the King James and get the same thing out of it because I understand the "Old English". Fewer and fewer people today are able to do that so a number of different companies attempt to do the same thing. There is no change in philosophy needed neither are their new churches founded because their is a New Modern English version of the Bible available. Many of the changes are like from "mankind" to "humans" or "human beings".

Other changes are for instance "spake" to "spoke" or "gehenna" or "Sheol" to "Hell"

Sir this is how it is. GOD wrote the Bible through Holy men or trusted Prophets inspired by the HOLY SPIRIT and JESUS HIMSELF used the Old Testament to quote The scripture that continues or makes up the new testament. The first chosen people the Jews were given the torah and now gentiles/ Christian(spiritual isrealites) were given the Gospels and Epistles as well as John was also in Meditation while given or shown the Book of Revelation.

I feel bad for you, that no matter what anyone will say, you will not change your mind about God or Christianity. You should care however, because it IS the word of God translated in several languages. It's the best selling book in the entire world for a reason.

God used man's hand to write the Bible.
The first book of the Bible is Genesis.
Written by God with the hand of Moses, A man
who spent alot of time with God.
The Bible was written in another language. Translating
was needed for all to be able to read it.
Christians believe in Gods Word the Bible.

in a way the fact that the bible has been translated in so many versions can make things confusing. i like the better way. it was originally written in Aramaic. then Hebrew then Greek. we do still have the Hebrew and Greek translations you cant get any closer than that. also it has been proven that a play on words have been changed in the many versions.

THEY WROTE THE OTHER VERSIONS NOT TO REPLACE THE ORIGINAL, BUT TO HELP PEOPLE INTERPRET IT. BUT LIKE ONE SAID PEOPLE UNDERSTAND AND TRANSLATE IT DIFFERENTLY. EVEN THE NEWER VERSIONS.

best to stick to the originals. i know i have trouble understanding the Hebrew, and Greek, but i understand the KJV. except for so many thee's and thous.

You should not worry who translate the bible because the bible itself was written by people who were inspired by God. And it says that nobody should add or subract whatever it is there inside. Plz I think you should care and know that God word will never pass it will stand still.

I'll tell you what, give me ONE contradiction in the King James Bible AV 1611. The Book was inspired by God and is my FINAL authority on all matters of faith and practise and EVERYTHING it touches upon.

Show me a contradiction... if it was poorly translated by man you shoud find hundreds...but... You CAN'T.

Everyone's interpretation of the bible is different. I don't think it is right for some to claim that their interpretation is the true meaning. I don't believe in the Bible, Kuran, or other religion, so it does not affect me much.

Really, really like the picture!!
The Bible was translated from Aramaic, Hebrew, Greek and Latin. It is still being revised and re-edited, so, I think you have a valid point.
