Hmmm deep question! Thanks.
I think that God wanted us to freely choose Jesus some time in our lives. Not to dictate it to us as infants. I also think that we have the ability to reject Jesus even after we have committed ourselves to following Him. I think God being infinite and omnipotent wanted us to share in some of the creative energy, and thought that is His. It makes our choosing Him more of value to Him.
Like the teacher who forms a special bond with a very challenging child.

The Bible gives clear direction on what a SAVED Christian should do... Mark 16:15 And he said unto them, GO YE into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.
We are here because we were created. Christ came to redeem us and save us from wrath promised to come. A person can do NO GOOD THINGS to get to heaven for the Scripture says, Ephesians 2:8-9 "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.
It is a free gift that must be accepted and acknowledged.

I've put together an Essay about this very subject, with a focus on truth. Your question, or rather the answer, is merely a by-product of the many subjects covered here.
If you can get through the two pages of definitions, you will be rewarded in the next two pages.
Here is the link to the Essay:

I was created by God and for God..to do His will..to tell others about Jesus and the supreme sacrifice He made for us so that we could love forever in Heaven with Him..so we wouldn't have to go to a devil's hell...that's why I am here.

Wellll, I believe that God created us in his image, but i dont think anyone realizes how serious that is, we have been created just under God, we are a symbol to the rest of the Universe of what God is, see we our in His image, we have the ability to choose right and wrong just like he has, we have the ability to pro create jus like he has, we are basicaly an example to the Universe of what God is. see we have been given the capability to understand who and what he is, see Satan was jealous of that fact, he hates all of us because we are created beings that are higher than he and can understand more than he and we represent God... well here i go on a tangent... lol but i think that we are created in His image to be an example of Him

The latter. Nobody knows God. Jesus is a character in a flawed, man-made book.

Prior to Jesus, the Lord had created Eve, without mother__ and Adam, without mother and father, the both. Afterwards, the Lord created Jesus without father. So the creation of Jesus, without father, is the third instance of the Lord’s all-encompassing creativity___ which is free from all the channels or systems of the birth. Instead, all the channels or systems of the birth are subservient to the all-encompassing and unique creativity of the Lord.
The Lord is, therefore, Holy and the Lord must be believed in, as Holy. To ascribe a son unto the Lord__ is a direct assault on the Lord’s Holiness__ which is an unpardonable crime.
•God was never incomplete or imperfect at all. Nor one can, even think like that__ as that is totally against the concept of Monotheism. God was Holy, God is Holy and God will remain Holy. And, no one is god beside God, nor Adam, nor Jesus, nor anyone else of the mankind.
God gave life to Jesus through God’s commandment as God___ not as father. Before Jesus, God had given life to Adam without father and mother, the both. Jesus and Adam are signs of God’s unique creativity__ and that is all. No more or no less__ are the meanings of their birth at all.
Jesus was born after Adam, Noah, Abraham, Ismael, Isaac, Jacob, David, Solomon, Moses and the numerous other Prophets (peace & blessings of God be upon all of them). If he were the Son-God, then, all of the foregoing Prophets, must have been the believers of Trinity. But the case is not like that at all. None of them was the believer of Trinity, rather, none of them, had, even, heard about the name of Trinity, in their times. Hence, Trinity is nothing else but an invented and artificial concept which has no existence, even, during the time of Jesus. It is, therefore, a rootless concept from all accounts.
God is not a creature. Not a son, nor a father. Instead, God is the Creator of every creature. And____ God is Supernatural and Super-physical. God is not encompass-able by the human intellect.
God is the Creator of every need but God is free from every need. God is the All Alone and God is the Absolute Holy. Nothing of the material or immaterial creatures can oppose God, as an equivalent to God. God is One and Alone since inception and God will remain One and Alone forever. Death is for the creatures____ not for God. God is the Creator of life and death, the both. God is the creator of the knowledge, the Mercifulness, the Almightiness, the Bounty & the Benevolence and the likewise Attributes as well. No description___ or narration____ or definition___ or praise___ can encompass God. God is the Supernatural and Super-physical. God is not encompass-able by the human intellect. Intellect can simply believe in God through the apparent signs.
When the Supreme Lord has already introduced the following verdict that:
“Nothing is alike God”
God created this universe and made it a home for the creatures. So that the creatures might pay thanks to God through worship and obedience and in turn they might receive God’s blessings.
Universe is a creation of God and behind it____ is God’s Almightiness. God created the needs___ the needies____ and all the things of needs. God is God____ God is need-free and Absolute Holy.
God is Almighty. God creates whatsoever God wills to create. Each and every creature of God is answerable to God and God is not answerable to anyone.
If the worshippers worship God and obey Gods commandments, it makes no difference to God. But on the other side, it makes a lot of difference to the worshippers if they do not worship God as they become empty-hearted and remain empty-hearted until and unless they resort to God.
If the sinners sin and disobey God, it makes no difference to God but the sinful life brings a lot of difference to the sinners as the sins necessitate the curse of God.
Curse is the God ordained result of sin
While blessing is the God ordained
result of virtue.
God has already judged the sinners and the righteous, in terms of their deeds through revealing the commandments and ordaining the ways to Hell and Heaven.
Key-point to receive the blessings of God___ is to become God’s dependent by all means____ through prayers_____ and patience ____ and trust in God.
God helps and guides aright to those who ask God for God’s help and guidance.
The people who do not believe God and lead a lustful life____ are always mislead to disaster.
Do not make an image of God and worship it. Whosoever will do so, will be held as an enemy of God. God does not resemble things. Things maybe of any kind, physical or meta physical, existent or non existent. Whatsoever is captured, touched or felt by the senses is not God. Worship God, Honour God and Serve God and always remember that God is Unseen. In this world whosoever is worshipping image or image like things is not worshipping the Almighty Unseen God of all the things in heavens and earth.
God created everything, the whole universe and then created ‘you’ and gave you the knowledge of good and bad. So do good, because God wants you to do good to meet the good of God.

I try to make decisions and take actions that allow me to remain true to myself. I consider myself a good person. If there is a god and that isn't good enough, I've resigned myself to living with it. Eternally.
