I am a teenager and my best friend claims that I never dated my boyfriend because we didn't see each other on a regular basis. In my head I know that we went out because we shared a special bond, that doesn't have to be characterized by "normal" dating behavior. How can I tell her that our relationship was real, in a nice way, because I am about to tell her off.

I suspect she is jealous of your relationship. Don't wast your time trying to convince her of anything. If the conversation comes up again, simply tell her to believe whatever she want to believe and flatly drop it. Don't let her drag you down into a stupid argument...let your character be above that. Just think how stupid both of you would look fussing and arguing over who is or is not your boyfriend. If she want to persist in always wanting to have that same old dead conversation, comely say "we don't have to have this conversation anymore, so lets drop it forever. Anytime she persist say see you later and leave her to talk to herself. You may have to start avoiding her altogether.
Here is a quote I would like to share with you."Whenever things are not going your way, use it as an opportunity to show how much class you have".

i had a couple of friends who assumed a lot of me and my bf becoz we don't see each other very often too and they tried to give advice. I normally don't listen to their advice coz they are not me and my bf! They think they know alot but they don't. I will jus ignore their comments and get on with my life. As long as you feel tht you two share a special bond, it's fine!

That would just be a best friend I think. Anyway why tell her off she is doing the right thing, by encouraging you to meet more people closer to home, She is just doing it in her own way!

relationships are all unique. Who is she to say what is normal and what is not? You know what your heart tells you, so ignore her and be happy with your memories and the bond you made with your boyfriend.

Tell her - politely- to please mind her own business about your love life. It is your love life and not hers. Say that you are fine with it and thank her for being concerned but it really isn't needed. If she gets mad then that is her problem.
