The web sites with a long-standing history of accurate content include:

The Pyrrhura Breeders Association
http://www.pyrrhurabreedersassociation.com/

Birds N Ways (linked to EVERYTHING bird-related under the sun)
http://birdsnways.com/birds/species.htm

Circle of Wings Conure Community
http://www.circleofwings.com/conurecommunity/maroon-bellied.htm

Birds N' Ways is a sure bookmark site. It's good for cages, articles, food, gifts ... OK, so it's the plexus of my entire home.

Oh, and stop by the conure forum @ the Tailfeathers Network
( tailfeathersnetwork.com ) I'm a member of Tailfeathers, and there are people there who own every kind of bird that you can imagine. It's a fun place to meet bird people who know what they're talking about.

A maroon belly and a green cheeked conure are very similar birds (pretty difficult to tell apart). I have a green cheek. They are intelligent and affectionate, can learn a few words and phrases but can also be nippy

looks like Em hooked you up!
maroon bellieds are good starter birds. they're relatively cheap in cost. easy to care. and most of all fun!! they are comical and busy birds. very active and curious!!!
although they are a conure they don't posses the very loud squawks and screeches of their larger cousins. don't get me wrong, they do make noise, i just don't consider it to be obnoxious.
good luck! and have fun
