The only problem is that the smoker won't be able to light up the cigarette due to the temperature and the speed of the aircraft...what I was thinking is that we keep a 'hookah' in a small cubicle hanging near the rudder or elevators and the pipe similar to the mask used in scuba diving is made available so that the smoker inhales and releases the smoke through it....hmmmmmm...I think it is possible that way!

Sometimes my husband will step outside the emergency hatch and stand on the wing to smoke during long flights between the United States and Thailand.

I get really embarrased because the cabin depressurizes and all the oxygen masks fall from the ceiling when he opens the hatch. The alarm bells buzz and ring, people scream, and the flight attendants get very angry. We're almost always arrested when we land.

It's kind of cold and the air is thin at 35,000 feet and 700+ miles per hour. He really has to hang on to enjoy that cigarette. It's hard to keep it burning too. I bought him a windproof Zippo lighter for his birthday.

I've asked him to quit smoking, but he doesn't listen. Once I got him to try those nicotine patches, but he just complained because he couldn't keep them lit.

Actually, airbus has made provision for a smokers lounge on their A340-600 aircraft. Most airlines just do not want to purchase the feature

well if they went out OF aplane you could say "bye bye" to them lol jk but i dont think so,they should be able to live for a while without smoking..even if you had a seprate room for it...right when you open that door...for non smokers...you wouldnt BELIVE how fast you can smell that T.T it lingers too and if people opened it many times the plane would smell like cigarettes

Are you talking about the emergancy exit? =D You are brilliant. One more way to rid the world of the smoking habit.

Just kidding.

No, they shouldn't. It's money spent on people with a self inflicted problem. As it is, airlines are suffering, no need to pressure them into paying for something silly as that.

i do not think so not only the whole aircraft will stink and there is a possible fire hazard... the question is about self control if you cannot stay smoke free or rather cannot resitant yourself for 15 hours without a cigrette then well you would not only be dieing sooner or later you are not a person with self disicipline and self control. well.. thats how i view it..
