Girl, I got something you need to know. Noone critisizes you like yourself. Heck I doubt this boy even knows enough about you to have even the slightest negative thought about you. Besides, what's the worst he could say?? No? I've already got a date? Don't be afraid, just go up to him and ask him if he's got a date to homecoming. Knowing any better he'll think kindly of you, that is usually the disposition of all good people. So if he isn't going with someone else, then pop the question, and don't be afraid of the answer. Because if you allow fear to rule your life you won't ever get the things you want.

Too shy to talk . . . then tell a friend to approach him and suggest you may be available and check to see if there is an interest. They could even say you don't know that they just like playing matchmaker for friends who don't have a date for homecoming.

A note, thats what I would do, but you have to make it like more than just wanna go to homecoming with me... you should tell him how you feel about him and then ask

If you are friends with him, hint that you want to go but you don't have anyone to go with yet. At this, ask if he is going with someone. If not, ask if he will go with you. If he is going with someone else, don't waist your time on him, someone better will come along.
I longed for a guy in high school. When I finally had a chance to be with him, I blew it. Shyness will rob you of who you want to be with.
Some guys think it is cute, but if you can't ask him a question or even talk with him, he is not going to get the message and it will be too late, because other girls out there may have their eyes on the same guy.
Another solution, get your best friend to ask him for you, but make sure she doesn't have a secret attraction to him. Sometimes having a girlfriend doing this for you is a killer. Girls in general are back stabbers when it comes to guys.
Be careful. Don't get your heart broken by him. There are plenty more out there and they will come looking for you one day. Enjoy life... It is wonderful.

Wear your hair down, some earrings, lipgloss, and some eyeliner. Wear short shorts or a skirt with high heeled shoes, and be friendly and happy. Ask him out during homecoming (makesure he doesn't have a GF) though.

Try to talk to him first.
Get to know him and then hint that homecoming is coming up, then ask him

walk up to him, start a conversation about something different, something that you know interests him, and that u know enough about that u wont embarass yourself. keep it light, and jokey, and, when youve been laughing together for a while, just slip it into the converation. If he says yes, you're in! if he says no, its his loss, and dont feel so shy that you dont go with somebody else.
