This easter you will understand what it means to be protected by the lord and will prosper, but next easter yourself or someone you know will be punished by the lord (perhaps someone who is now acting like a christian, but really isn't). you will have the choice to understand this and support them and be a friend, or you can let them go. I would read corinthians 1 and 2 for some more insight.

The statues are angles (messengers from God). The first (single) announces good news, the second two angels announces bad news.
"This is the protection of the lord." Against what does the lord protect? The evil one. Staying where you are is safe: Staying with your beliefs, even if you have doubts.
"This is the punishment of the lord." Two angels just like those who destroy. Moving on is difficult. What you believe has changed, not necessarily for the better.
What about Easter Island? Once a place for God's memories in stone of a nation no longer; a place where God protection is no more. A reminder that protection is not enough.
Summary: Staying put is safe, and moving on has risk. The choice is yours.

I am no Joseph, and I would like to ask you a few more questions to at least know a little about your situation (for example, Joseph knew the jobs held by the two men being held in prison with him; this gave him insight into their current state of mind, etc.).
Anyway, the "protection of the Lord" was sent for you. I wonder what you really mean when you say that after the statue touched the ground you were "taken to another place but both looked the same". If I were to guess that you knew in your dream that the location of your dream changed as soon as the "protection" statue touched the ground, then I would also guess that you feel you are no longer under God's protection. This new place is similar, but God is not protecting you there.
Going further, the 2 statues represent how you believe God may be twice as determined to punish you as he was to protect you. I doubt God sent you this message as much as you sent it to yourself. In other words, you feel that God will punish you twice as bad for refusing to keep his protection when you knew what would happen before you found yourself in your present state.
There is hope in your dream, however.
Easter Island may have little or no significance, but it is likely the statues were locked away in your memory long ago, and resurfaced to point you towards the one for whom we celebrate Easter, Christ Jesus.
You may realize, on some level, that Jesus Christ was present when you turned away from Him. You may also realize He will be twice as likely to "punish" you for whatever has happened. This would be a SEVERE misunderstanding, as Christ did not come to condemn the world, but to save the world.
My advice: Stop. Repent of (regret and change your life towards) your sins, and ask Jesus to restore your soul.

As Joe told Pharoah, only God can give you an interpretation. I can tell you the "two" means a double witness or something that has no variation on. It is set.
The same place/looked the same is your life and the choice you are being given. Easter Island statues are simply a way of depicting Easter for you.
The question becomes are you going to follow 1 lord or try to squeeze in two.
I think this is a fair interpretation. Let someone else tie in for the double witness test for truth.

more often then not when given a dream by God interpertation will follow. Otherwise it would be like giving only half a message and that would benifit no one. You should be seeking the interpertation from God since you believe the message came from there. This is my attempt to explain the dream: but please pray for confirmation and don't take my word for it.:
You were in the same place twice because they are two different times in life. The first will be under the covering. The second time will be under the protection and punishment. accountability will come but ..........without abandonment...........Easter island and the statues are just symbols in your dream. They are not the message.

The one statue tells of the one choice you have to make to either serve God or Satan.
The two statues tell of the punishment for those who reject the Lord. Punishment one is here on earth as your life will be a lot less then it could be. Punishment two is eternal punishment in Hell if you do not accept the sacrifice Jesus made for you.

Verily, the answer is in the history of the statues and the extinction of the natives of Easter Island. Beware.

I think that your dream is about discernment. You can exercise the same particular action at a specific time or place and it can have a pleasing or displeasing outcome.
"There is a time and place for everything under the sun."

It means that you have probably been thinking about or reading about prophecy too much and it is getting all mixed up in your brain. In other words it does not mean a thing.
