In Psalms 98:4 it says to Make a joyful noise unto the LORD, all the earth: make a loud noise, and rejoice, and sing praise. (King James Version)

Our church knows how to rock, but when we worship boy do we worship, we have acustic guitar, electric guitar, bass, full drum set, keyboard, bongos, and a flute. We play alot of David Crowder, Jeff Deyo, Gateway Worship, and many more, we just flow in the spirit. I doubt there has ever even been a hymn book in the church, personally i would fall asleep. we lift our hands, jump if we wanna. This would definetly be Contemporary Worship.

Actually I was raised going to a church where we only sang out of a hymn book. In the church I go to now, there is praise and worship and I love it. We also sing out of the hymn book sometimes, but my favorites are the really rockin' praise and worship songs, Shout to the Lord, Blessed be the Name of the Lord, etc.

I was raised in a Presbyterian church with only hymns. I now prefer worship choruses, but not so contemporary that the whole building shakes.

Have you ever seen the humourous poem, "Hymns vs. Choruses"? Check it out:

There is also one for "Choruses vs. Hymns", but I couldn't find it quickly.

Traditional. Cotemporary praise songs are embarassing to sing. They are too intimate. Bring back the hymns.
