My iPhoto is getting really slow, because I have 1710 photos in there, what should I do?

It's just sucking up all the memory from my mac, so slow because it has to load up all those pics everytime, editing them is painful .. is there some way of setting up another iphoto on the same computer .. like an iphoto #2??

I would suggest backing up some of your photos to a CD and then deleting them from iPhoto. The less images iPhoto has to load the faster it will run.
