Eat healthy and exercise. Get physicals regularly. Tell your doctor about your family history of cancer, so he/she can be aware of what to watch for. I know why you're scared... we've got lots of it in my family, too.

What form of cancer? Some types of cancer are very treatable, and most are at least manageable when caught early enough. So the best thing for you to do, is to maintain regular checkups with a Doctor that specializes in recognizing and treating cancer. Don`t forget, that if you are diagnosed with cancer, the second opinion can make all the difference in the world.

Sometimes with these sort of things which are a manifesation of heredity there is no clear cut solution. Science has no been able to explain completely how cancer is passed on from generation to generation. Your best best is to get screened as often as possible for the disease!
In the meantime try not to think about it. Embrace life and live it to fullest. I am not sure if you religious or not but have faith in a higher power who ever it may be. It will allow you not to be preoccupied with the possibility of the disease and allow you to fully live your life.
Having seen the Johnaton Edwards show which is about physic medium on the WE who talks to dead relative I felt more placated on the issue of death. The way I look at it is If I believe in God and an after life whats the worse that can happen. If I'm wrong and I die , I won't be able to anything. However, atleast during the period I am alive I am less worried about death and more focused on my life.
Lastly I don't mean to suggest you are preoccupied with death or anything but I myself have taught about it and I tought it might help.
Good Luck
