Wow that is serious. He is a real person too. I would watch him and see if he shows characteristics of a drug user or you can talk to him in confidence and flat out ask him if the pipe is his.

Hmmmm... well first of all I think you should talk to him before jumping to conclusions because like you say he could have confiscated it from someone, cus it wud b kinda stupid to take somethin like that in the Lords house an seriously expect ne one to notice, an if there is a problem then maybe you noticing it cud b the first step to helping him...

Confront him he is your minister and everyone trusts him if you have even the slightest doubt about him, then you should put your fears to rest by asking him. The worst that could happen is he is on drugs you get a minister and he gets help.

I'd talk to him about it. If he denies that he had one, something is seriously wrong. If he says he confiscated it, you might want to unobtrusively watch him to make sure he isn't lying. If he says he needs help, help him get into some sort of anonymous therapy group, and be there for him when he needs support.

If he is obviously smoking crack and blatantly lying about it, report him to your higher church leaders. Regardless of his situation, let him know that your help is available if he needs it.

Matthew 18:15-17 The Bible says to confront him directly.

Mat 18:15 Moreover if thy brother shall trespass against thee, go and tell him his fault between thee and him alone: if he shall hear thee, thou hast gained thy brother.
Mat 18:16 But if he will not hear [thee, then] take with thee one or two more, that in the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established.
Mat 18:17 And if he shall neglect to hear them, tell [it] unto the church: but if he neglect to hear the church, let him be unto thee as an heathen man and a publican.

talk to him about it. maybe he DID confiscate it. But i'd still talk to him. After all, you need to be able to trust him,and if he has a drug problem, he can't make good descisions concerning the church. Talk to him!

Talk to him directly and if you are uncomfortable, go to a church Elder or a Deacon about it. I would discuss it with them and no one else. Let them handle it without rumors flying.
