Gaudiya Vaisnavism, colloquially known in the West as the "Hare Krishna's", the "Hare Krishna's" represent the personalist school of thought within the Vedic religion, also the Sankaraites which is the impersonalist school of thought within the Vedic religion, the Jains and the Buddhists.

Generically speaking in Eastern philosophical/Spiritual thought and practise all life is respected.

The Vedic/Buddhist scriptures promote the principle of Paro Dharma Ahimsa, "The best religion is non violent".

First off, I'm going to apologize for the really annoying people trying to convert you to Christianity. Christianity condones beating your slaves (but only if they get up after a day or two), so I wouldn't suggest it. However, I would highly suggest Jainism. One of their major premises is to not harm any other living thing. They believe every animal has a soul, and could be the reincarnation of anyone. Priests of Jainism and hardcore followers even have a special brush to brush their path in front of them so they don't step on any bugs. It's a very peaceful religion, where harm of anyone is not allowed.

I think Hare Krishna's are strictly vegetarian.

I am veg myself, but do not subscribe to any religion. The belief set that suits me most is secular humanism.

From a humanist website:
"Secular Humanism is a way of thinking and living that aims to bring out the best in people so that all people can have the best in life. Secular humanists reject supernatural and authoritarian beliefs. They affirm that we must take responsibility for our own lives and the communities and world in which we live. Secular humanism emphasizes reason and scientific inquiry, individual freedom and responsibility, human values and compassion, and the need for tolerance and cooperation."

As a humanist, I extend compassion to animals. I do all I can NOT to contribute to the suffering in the world. Vegetarianism is a great first step in that direction. Even better, veg*ism is the best choice for the environment. No rain forests need to be chopped down for cattle grazing on my account, no water or grains that could be used for people will be fed to a cow for all the years it takes to raise it to adulthood. One does not need religion to tell them that vegetarianism is a smart choice for both animals and humans.

I know Buddhism reveres all life, even tiny insects. I remember a story from one of my classes where Buddha is said to have not walked on a path because he didn't want to step on the ants and accidently kill them, and did not want to walk in the grass for fear of killing a single blade. Don't know what he walked, though, lol! Also, many Buddhists are aslo vegetarians.

Religion has nothing to do with cruelty even to insects. If you are convinced that there is a God, that Jesus is the example for how we are supposed to live a pious life, then you have mastered the art of servitude and Love.

Just read the Bible and chat with God every chance you have. Where to go to conduct or warm a seat on Sundays will come automatically. But do not think of religion or churches.

Think Jesus and where was he on Sundays, Mondays, Tuesdays or any day of the week. If it wasn't aiding somebody or helping and healing someone, (spiritually first,) then it wasn't Jesus. That is exactly the message that God wants us to derive to from the Jesus experience. Not religion or church warming!

Look around you, what do you see?

Do you see a blind trying to cross a busy street? Do you see a hungry homeless looking through the trash for a bite of anything edible? Do you see someone on a wheel chair needing a push? Stop all that you are doing and go aid somebody!

Better still, go out just looking for anyone in these situations, and you will find them screaming in their soul for some help. That my dear is religion! Knowing that someone needs to be loved like Jesus loved, extending the Love that God professes for us. That is Christianity not religion. Anything else is just a fake and a flagrant lie!

Then you must stop killing the living celled vegetables ,and the stems that nourish them(kidding). You can take anything to far. Try Christianity, We no longer need to sacrifice animals, since Christ was the sacrifice. All food is cleansed, you can choose to eat whatever you want, but keep in mind that God tells you what the good stuff is, which is mostly vegetables and seeds.

In Myanmar, women sweep the streets so Buddhist monks can walk through without killing insects.
