I'm getting a new puppy in a few months and I'm most likely getting a chihuahua or pomeranian. Which do you personally like better? Tell me the pros and cons of each, and which one you think is cuter.
And please, I want personal opinions ONLY. If I wanted a breed description i'd go read that.

All right! Someone who wants specifics! I like chihuahua's because they are less foo-foo than poms. Plus poms are what Fran Drescher has and she drives me insane. That is probably dumb but true. (Yes I know that Paris isn't better but I had chis before she did:) Plus chis live the longest of any dog. Finally, they are very attached to one person and I wanted a dog that wanted to be with me all the time. Poms are cute and I have nothing against them but in MHO chihuahuas rule!

They're both nasty, yappy little dogs*. At least the chihuahua would take less grooming.
If you can adopt a puppy from the pound or a shelter you can save a dog's life. In general, mixed-breed dogs have fewer health problems than pure-bred dogs. This is especially true of puppies that come from petshops because so many of them are born in puppy mills and you don't want to support that kind of enterprise anyway.
(*ok, not every single one is nasty and yappy, but that's been my observation in general)

Which is best huh... that's like asking which is better; death by suffocation or death by asphyxiation. They both tend to be yappy, overbred, and annoying. I don't like either breed personally. Most of the ones I've met have had major behavioral problems and quite a few have had big health problems too (mostly do to overbreeding and lack of parental screening.) If you get one from a good breeder, health problems will be minimal. If you get one from a newspaper or even worse, a pet store, you're asking for a ton of health problems from these breeds.
If I had to chose one to live with, it would be the pom... I don't like either, but I dislike poms less ;-)

My friends has 3 chihuahuas and they make very good companions. I personally like chihuahas better because they are cuter and shed less. Also I heard that pomeranians are biters. In the end, its really up to you to decide on which to get.

the shelter should have both, check there to see if they have one. I've never had a pomeranian before, but i have had a chihuahua and she was VERY cute and VERY smart. she was also free. :D

A Pomeranian is better because they are playful, fun and cute.
Chihuahuas can be nasty and get an attitude real quick. They aren't as playful and they bite easily if they are scared.

pomeranians are better with red wine and pasta
chihuahuas are a lighter meat so use a white pinot and a rice pilaf.
