closest thing is bladderwort, which is a plant that eats little creatures in the water. (microscopic stuff)

check out the bladderworts (Utriculatia australis is the most common here) they are flowering plants but they float on the water surface and look very much like a clump of algae. - the genus is called Utricularia but not all species of them live in water and look like algae. thy suck up little invertebrates in their bladders that are 1-5 milimetres big - when they open the bladder it makes a clicking noise, actually. so if you run you hand through them, the plant wil be smacking at you! they grow all over the world. check out at www. sarracenia.com - great site about carnivorous plants.

Algae are mostly photosynthetic
But some of them are know to kill fish and cause skin diseases in man
but mostly it is not that the algae is actually feeding on animals, but that toxins that are released during algal growth-bloom, that kill or infect animals
Also there are some species of Euglenophyta (a type of algae) that become heterotropic in absence or in low light
