Line the cap/top next to the edge of a table. Then pound down on the top with your fist.

Any object with a flat edge can be used. Screwdriver, claw hammer, butter knife, Bic Lighter, I've even seen people use another bottle. Anything that you can use to pry the cap off. And practice, that helps.
Put the flat edge under the rim of the bottle cap, and pry upward.
I find it helps if you start the force in the same plain (180 degrees) with the cap.
It is a really really bad idea to use your teeth, even with full dental coverage. A beer is just not worth it.

Line it up with the edge of a canned good and whack the top...such as canned peas or tuna etc. Most people say line it up with the edge of a table or something, but you will rip the hell out of your table doing that. If the can keeps flipping over when you whack the beer bottle, have a friend hold it, or if you are drinking alone....set the can on the floor, hold it with your knee, and then use the bottle of beer on it. I am speaking from experience.

Stuff with flat edges help, you can hit it on a table, or use your teeth (completely not recommended). What I do to open a soda bottle (with those same caps) is I get a napkin, fold it in half, cover it and twist it open like a regular cap, minus the pain.

Use a lighter - like a Bic, as leverage and pry the lid off.

Can hit it on a open table or counter, I've even seen some people do it with there teeth, but would be very cautious if you do it.
