Iran is no threat to anybody. Now Iran IS threatened by many surrounding nations. Saudi Arabia for example, which has nuclear weapons, missiles, poison gas. Iran is a shiite persian state, and is opposed by arab sunni states, which surround iran. Iran also has to deal with Iraq, which is presently occupied by the USA. They are nervous that 150,000 american troops are a short distance away from their homeland.
Then of course there's israel. In the past israel has secretly traded arms technology to Iran, but lately the israeli knesset has gone religious and very rightwing.
Iran is very very far away from the USA, they are no threat at all.

Iran is verbally threatening Israel and supplying arms to Muslim terrorists all over the world. On the flip side China is threading Taiwan with force and Israel has been selling military technology to China or at least they were.
Supposedly Israel was killing Iranian soldiers in Lebanon so there is a hint that Hezbollah had backup.
Iran took 50 hostages, but Israel shot one of our ships and we downed an Iranian jetliner (although the video on board the ship shows the Iranians weren't talking so the Americans didn't know what they were shooting at right in the middle of a battle).
Iran is actually more of a threat to it's own people (i.e. though those religious squads) and they are basically leaving and not breeding if you look at the on line CIA fact book. There were hints the Iranians (not their government) was hoping for an invasion by the U.S.
If you look on a map, you will see that Iran is now surrounded by American forces on three sides (Iraq, Afghanistan and the gulf).
If America was to have attacked Iran, they should have done it when the hostages were taken.

Iran does have nuclear weapons and is given the technologies from China. First our troops could take transport of absolute amnesty and we could desire to end showing compassion for the enemy or any of the Iraq human beings. 2d there are 2 the thank you to handle Iran. Withdraw from Iraq leaving the Sunnis in powers. Iran being a shi'ite united states will pass to conflict with Iraq thinking they're in for an elementary conflict. Iraq sunnis during history have been very valuable against Iran. A stalemate occurs and iran makes use of various its guy skill and materials combating the Sunnis. This takes the USA out using fact the hardship-loose enemy with the two Sunnis and Shi'tes combating one yet another greater ferociusly. Then the USA of a is going into Iran and overthrows the government reason the political instability to Iran This halts the form of nuclear weapons in Iran. All oil refineries in Iran could be destroyed so Iran could desire to focus on the rebuilding of it infrastructure. the different thought is to do the comparable with out the Iran vs. Iraq conflict

No Concrete Proof Iran Nuclear Program Is Military

Vienna (AFP) Aug 31, 2006
UN nuclear inspectors have found no "concrete proof" that Iran's nuclear program is of a military nature, a senior official close to the UN nuclear agency said Thursday. "Inspectors have not uncovered any concrete proof that Iran's nuclear program is of a military nature," the official told reporters on condition of anonymity.
The official said this conclusion came as inspectors from the Vienna-based International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) were investigating "additional questions about the scope and nature of Iran's nuclear program" as part of an ongoing investigation since February 2003.
These questions have involved Iran's work with sophisticated P2 centrifuges to enrich uranium and blueprints Iran possesses to make nuclear weapons parts.
Iran has not been forthcoming in answering these questions.
"There is a standstill with regard to the resolution of outstanding issues which would clarify the peaceful nature of Iran's program," the official said.

Iran's majority population is Persian and also Shi'ite, whereas the surrounding countries are Arab and Sunni nations. So both Israel (for obvious reasons) and Arab nations should be scared of Iran. The US, in my view, has no valid reason to be afraid of Iran since it will never support Al Quiada, which is predominantly dominated by Arab and Sunni.

KS ! We are not a terror " nation" but unfortunately we have a terrorist GOVERNMENT / REGIME.
KRISK ! Mullahs are already supporting Al- Qaeda. Bin Laden's sons( some of them ) are living in Iran.
But my answer to the question:
The most important goal of mullahs of Iran is remaining in power. They and their families are very corrupted and make billions of dollars every year. The best examples are Rafsanjani, Vaez Tabasi, and Khamenei families.
Khamenei has told the commanders of Islamic Revolutionary Guards that we need to follow North Korea's way. Although US hates them it cannot change North Korea's regime because they have nukes.
I believe they are only afraid that US among all powers ( and ONLY US ) thinks about changing mullahs' regime because Europe, Russia, and China have very friendly relations with mullahs. Having a nuclear bomb, Khameni has said : " will insure our regime for at least another 100 years". They will just use their bomb to blackmail the world and to keep the US far from them. They are very interested in living luxouriously ( many of them and specifically their family members have US Greencard, Canadian and European citizenships ) and don't get into a war which might deprive them of their beloved worldly privilidges. They only want to remain in power. As soon as they get a guaranttee from the US , endorsed by their European, Russian, and Chinese lovers they will declare their suspension of the enrichment.

Well, who should believe Bush that they are conducting "nuclear experiments!" Has he ever been right about anything?
Iran is enriching uranium and beginning a nuclear power plant, which is perfectly LEGAL under the NPT!
You have to enrich uranium in order for the damn thing to work!
We are the ones who destabilized that whole area by taking Saddam out!
Iran wants to run that whole area, and the most to lose probably is Israel! Iran is no threat to us!

Enriched Uranium needs only to be about 4% pure I believe for teh sake of nuclear power capabilities. For nuclear weapons capability uranium must be enriched to about 94% purity.
The technology they seek far surpasses the needs of a nuclear power plant.
They have a good argument FOR nuclear armament, so why do they lie? The Shiites that propel the iranian government forward only make up about 15% of the muslim population, the rest of the middle east does not share their point of view. Maybe we should all fear Iran?
Hezbollah = Shiites. Just food for thought.
