In the US, it's the Sharing Network. Your doctor puts you on the list if he thinks you're a candidate. If you want to donate, you can contact them. Usually, it's only an issue when you die. and you can mark it on your license. If you were feeling REALLY generous and wanted to help someone out, you could donate an organ that you didn't need if you were a match...while you were still alive. Something like a kidney, because you have two. But they'd have to check and make sure both of yours work well enough that you'd be okay with one.

Any organ of your body can be donated. Since the recent developments in the field of immunology have contributed much to major organ transplantations many hospitals carry out this process although the recipient may face less percentage of failure. some recipients of transplants have problem due to immuno compromising.

We often forget that our knowledge is also a part of our body. We can freely donate it to any body without loosing it. So first let us share our experience and knowledge with the needy. This will definitely avoid donation of other organs!!. (Everybody will become learnt and competent to lead life to their full satisfaction till they want to live!)

you can donate almost all of your organs if the are healthy. there are thousands of people waiting for organ donations, many die everyday before they get the organ they need. i myself am a donor and the thought that my death could save the lives of at least a dozen people makes me feel great, and honored to have that chance. please be a donor, someday it could be someone close to you that needs a life saving transplant. contact your local dmv and you can register to be a donor. your body must be preserved after brain death in order for your organs to be usable, just telling your family isnt enough. i wish more people were apt to donation
