First the gym is just a place and we all make excuses for being overweight like it would just work if we could go to gym or yoga or something. Bull. walk when you don't have to. Park farther away than you normally would. Walk faster when you do walk. Stand erect and hold in your tummy and leg and buttocks muscles when you walk. If you sit at work do leg lifts at your desk. Hold your legs up first 5 then ten. Work up to it. Sit erect and squeeze all the body parts you can from head to feet. Then here comes the good part! Eat , Eat, Eat, yeah. all the veggies you want, some fruit. Take Barley Green in juice. It keeps your guts clean and all the gunk out of your system. Then eat small portions....use a saucer, not a platter. We eat too much. Half a meal is all we need. Save the rest for another meal. Then, cut the sugar! Yeah....tough to do but you will see results within a few weeks. So, the gym won't do a thing for you...you have to do it for yourself. I used to be 240lbs. I'm down to 167 in about a year. It's going slow but I'm trying to do lifestyle change not fad diet. I like to eat. I just don't eat the same stuff. The barley green really helps. Good Luck

Watch what you eat and increase your physical activity by jogging or going up and down stairs instead of using an elevator. Eat more salads and stay away from breads and sweets and junk food. That's only a start. You must make a real commitment and you must discipline yourself if you wish to lose weight and keep it off. It ain't easy but it can be done and one you get into the habit, it won't feel like a sacrifice to you any more.

Get into the habit of at LEAST doing stretching exercises when you wake up. It's a start. Then, regardless of time constraints, you can add a few exercises to yoru daily routine. Slowly but surely you will see the changes. Change your eating habits; eat healthier foods, less starches, less sugars, more proteins, fish, etc.

I work shifts and I have a small mini trampoline, a sit up machine and some great tunes. I exercise in my spare room. I jump on my trampoline and sing at the top of voice for 10 minutes then I do 20 sit-ups,
jump for 8 minutes, 30 sit-ups,
jump for 6 minutes, 40 sit-ups,
jump for 4 minutes, 20 situps
jump for 2 minutes, 10 situps
then I have a good stretch.

I don't always do sit-ups, some days i'll do floor exercises for my arms or legs. I have free weights that I use whilst I bounce around and I also have some weights that wrap around my ankles. I do star jumps and different types of bouncing so that I get variety.

We are fat because we take in more sugars/carbs/fats than what we burn, so it gets accumulated.

The way to stop and reverse this accumulation is either to take in less sugars/carbs/fats or burn more.

Since you seem to be unable to burn more due to time constraints, you should focus on take in less sugars/carbs/fats. You could switch your diet, drink at least 2 litres of water a day and eat more vegetables/fruits/fish and so on, less potatoes/rice/fatty meat...

I turned to a nutrition supplement which also acts as meal replacement, So instead of say a 1200-1500 cal meal I have a 200-300 cal meal, and it shows quite quickly on my waistline. I also drink 3 litres of water a day. I chose to switch lunch, although I am sure that if I switched dinner I'd have better results.

In total I lost around 4 inches and 9Kg, 6Kg in first 3 months; and have kept it off for over a year. The only exercise I do is yoga, but I stick to my new food habits. The good thing is that I still enjoy my food for dinner, go to the pub and have some drinks once in a while; but still am healthier. Even more than the days when I used to play football regularly...

Good luck;
all it it takes is to eat/drink right and your body will take care of itself.

kick start your metabolism. All time your body thinks its starving any food you give it will be hoarded even with exercise as it does not know when you will eat again so if you retrain your body to expect food on a regular basis then it will increase the burn rate
Have a look at vitaline which is a company that produe a diet sheet about this. I only did it for a month but it worked for me, lost weight that no matter how many miles I ran had not shifted for a couple of years

I used to have a work schedule like that where I just didn't have time for exercise.

I lost 25 lbs. by eating less more frequently (around 1200 calories a day) and not eating after 5:30 p.m.

Go walking early in the morning an hour before you normally wake up. Do exercise tapes in the morning. Most of all, eat healthy meals like baked fish and chicken, eating tuna out of the can (plain, mixed with nothing), eat lots of fruits and green vegetables, and drink plenty of water and get lots of sleep. Just take care of yourself. It is easy to forget about your health in these days we live in.

If you REALLY want to lose weight you have to make time. I work full time have two small kids and I go to school part-time. I wake up early and do exercise at home.
