I was a college athlete...6'1, 195.....Since turning 30, I have had 2 cervical fusions for a broken neck. It is healed completely, but I still have moderate pain from time to time. I have lost most of my upper body tone and my cardio is nonexistant. Can anyone give me some tips?

1) Start with the Elliptical Machine to build your leg muscles and gain cardio endurance without the difficulty of running. If you do not know how to swim, learn to swim with a floater in between your legs. This is great for upper body. And then swim with a board to work on your lower body.

I think it is important to gain cardio strength before tackling the weigths.

Start slow and make small goals for improvement.

It will take dedication and consistency. Don't allow yourself to get discouraged. Just get yourself off the couch and move.

easy enough answer is just go to the gym and start doing something. Get a trainer to work with you so you dont reinjure yourself.
