Then you have assumed correctly. I haven't figured it out, is it the florescent orange color of the cheese powder or the macaroni but the people in my house love it. I feel it is the best brand in a box.

Velveta and Shells rock!! I add more cheese on top and bake it for a few minutes at 350 degrees. Somtimes i even put sliced tomatos on top as well. Do a double batch so there is no fighting over the last scoop.
