Why is George Washington's official birthday celebration held on February 22 when he was actually born on February 11?

because we lost 11 days when we changed from Julian to Gregorian calendar during his lifetime. So Washington celebrated his birthday 11 days later to make it a year after his last birthday.

Our government combined the celebration of George Washington and Abraham Lincolns birthday.s into one so they could add Martin Luther Kings birthday to the federal holidays.

I think washington and lincoln birthdays were combined or something... but I didnt do well in history in school.. but I think the 2 presidents days are combined somehow.
