I can't figure out how to adress the envelope. If this was the address how would I do it?

John Doe
Somewhere University
Unit 1345
4000 Main St
Denver, CO 12345

You have it correct as it is. The post office begins at the bottom and reads upward. They would deliver the addres to Denver, Co and then got to 4000 Main St., and look for Unit 1345 in Somewhere University. Then and only then would the Postman look for John Doe.
Pretty interesting huh? I thought so when I first found this out.

I would do it:
John Doe
Somewhere University
4000 Main street
Unit 1345
Denver,Co 12345

Rearrange it to read like this:
John Doe
Unit 1345
Somewhere University
4000 Main St
Denver, CO 12345
That way the person's name and unit number will appear first to the person who distributes the mail within the university after the Postal Service has done its job of delivering it.

You did it correctly. The way I learned was to start from the bottom up, like the first place it needs to go is the state, then city, then the address, then apartment number, etc
