You can't beat the Breathalyzer, only the current maintenance records or the training of the officer. Whatever you do, don't shoot the cop like that REMY D said. What kind of an idiot is he. Really, just don't drink more than two drinks. If you drive, wait an hour before starting out on the trip. With the .08 limit, it is very easy to be over the limit. Always be polite to the officer and keep your hands in plain sight where he can see them. If you do all this, you will be fine. If you frequent bars near your house, walk.

Stay away from menthol cough drops and mints or you will be working the opposite giving you a higher reading. Most breath fresheners contain alcohol and will increase the amount of mouth alcohol. The 20 minute observation, no smoking, no drinking is for your benefit. Mouthwash does contain alcohol and will show positive for alcohol. If you live near the bar best bet is to walk. If you must drive, eat first, drink water.

1. Don't drink to excess.
2. No. Even then there is a 15 minute waiting period after the cop checks to see if your mouth is empty and the time you are requested to blow.
3. I you live near bars, you should walk. If you are not driving, that obviates the question of the breathylizer.

You really have nerve asking a question like that. You already know it is not the right thing to do just like being a drunk is not the right thing to do. I was in a head on collision with teens that drove drunk. Besides me getting injured and one of the teens being a vegetable the rest of his life, one died too, so I have every right to say this to you. People like you only think about themselves, the next drink. We all pay higher insurance premiums because of it too. Nobody wants to run over you stumbling home either. Get some help for whatever the reason is that you bury everything in alcohol and go to rehab.

Let me see now...So, you want to beat a breathylyzer.. and you live near bars...in other words, you are asking how would it be possible to conceal the fact that you are continuing to drive while drunk, that is to say driving around a ton or more of heavy metal with a tank of gasoline and while jeapordizing the lives of innocent others... while you enjoy yourself... Hmmmm!! and you are asking other to help you in this noble endeavor.
Listen my little jerk-off freind...you need a major moral renovation and ... AND...a psychiatrist AND....incarceration....not to mention a a masterful physical thrashing..You should be in chains.. Wake up little boy...because one day after you maim or kill someone , perhaps the living loved one that survives the crash will get out of the wreck and take you within an inch of your life...Please know...Know...that you will deserve this. Get a life...

...just drink within your legal limits.
I am amazed how many questions there are of how to cheat the common rules that WE have establishd in the community. Don;t drink too much, don;t speed too much, don't use illegal drugs, don't hit people, don;t steal from oithers. Where does the cheating stop? No wonder the jails are full.
And look at all the answers that encourage the cheating, rather than do the right thing.

You can't. That's why the police are so confident using them.
The long term solution of course, is to not need one anymore--don't drink and drive, or anything else that requires montoring.
If you need to use a breathalizer, probably sobriety is something worth looking into.
I did. It works pretty nicely.

If you live near bars, how about walking? Would you like your loved one to be run down by some drunk? Grow up.

There is no way of beating it But they are 95% accurate at best if they are operated properly The only way to beat them is to prove that they were not properly calibrated or operated incorrectly

I'm inclined to agree. I'm not sure you can beat a breathalizer, but there are ways to alter it's analysis of you. I have heard that cough drops, and certain breath fresheners can alter results. I seriously hope you aren't planning to drink and drive-- if you live by bars, walk!
