Here is the marinade that taste best to me, mix the ingredients and let them sit for at least 3 hours in the fridge.

Marinade:
4 garlic cloves, minced
1 jalapeño chile pepper, seeded and minced
1 teaspoon freshly ground cumin seed (best to lightly toast the seeds first, then grind them)
1 large handful fresh cilantro, leaves and stems, finely chopped (great flavor in the stems)
Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper
2 limes, juiced
2 tablespoons white vinegar
1/2 teaspoon sugar
1/2 cup olive oil

"Carne Asada" means Roast Beef in Spanish. I think every Spanish speaking country has at least one version of "carne asada". I just put two bell peppers 1 tomato, plenty of garlic (5 or 6) cloves, 3 or 4 ciboulets with salt, ground black pepper and a little vinegar or lemon (2 spoonfulls?) and some herb I like in the blender (I add some water to make the thing go). Then I put the beef in a plastic container (with a tight lid) in the fridge overnight. I shake and turn the thing over a couple of times... Good luck matey... I'm Venezuelan in case you want to know.

Try La Choy sweet and sour sauce, it will liven up any dull Mexican food product.
