The reason people crave sweet things goes back to our ancestors and being human surviving on what food we could find
fruit and berries are seasonal and would have been gorged before it went off or the season changed.
It is part of our DNA to crave sugar = fruit = summer = fatten up for the winter = better Chance of survival
That's why we get a feel good factor from sugary sweet stuff.
Our brains are still programmed as if the store wasn't round the corner and we had to find our own food - sugar releases endorphins to our brain saying Mmmmmmmmm
Trouble is theres always sugar available now and we haven't learnt to switch this signal off

Sugar gives you an excitement rush (endorphins) and causes chemical changes in your brain. These changes up your mood. It also releases energy into the body. However, what goes up must come down so once the "high" is over, your body will loose the energy and feel weak. Your body can become addicted to this "high" (similar to what cigs or alcohol can do) and so it craves more sweet stuff when it starts going down.
A similar rush can be felt through exercise if you want to slowly replace sugar in your diet with something better for you.

I know now why I have always craved sweet things but I didn't know that when I was a kid. I was unconsciously looking for affection from someone (preferably a girl). So I drank tons of soda water, ate cookies, cakes, pies, doughnuts, crullers, cream puffs, chocolate eclairs (yum!), malted milks, banana splits, ice cream, etc. and I became a sugarholic and ruined my health and got hypoglcemia. I finally studied nutrition and health and got well. Now its no more refined white sugar for me (dextrose, sucrose), because they get into your blood stream too fast and you get a high, and then comes the low (sugar blues) and then your pancreas becomes trigger happy. But you have to approach this problem on the emotional side, too. I did this by learning how to love and like magic that love came back to me so that's how I got my affection!

I'm not sure. But for me, is when I'm not having sex. When I want to have sex or I am on my menstral cycle. That is for me. Pay attention to what is going on when you crave the sweets. That might help you figure that question out. Good Luck. That is still a mystery in the world.

I don't crave sweet things! If you do, however, it could be a sign that you're brain is indicating a lack of seratonin. (That's a chemical that it releases. It gives you a feel good feeling.) It could also mean that you're feeling low. I'm diabetic, and when my blood sugar falls, I sometimes get that feeling.

The less sugar in your diet, the less you'll crave it. If you can make it, say a week, without your sugary craves - you won't hardly even miss it! Hope this info is helpful to you.

CAFFINE MAKES YOU CRAVE CARBS, WITH A SWEET TASTE TO THEM. TRY TO GET MOST OF YOUR CAFFINE IN THE MORNING.
ALSO, SWEET CRAVINGS ARE A SIGN OF LOW BLOOD SUGAR, SO EAT MORE FIBER (APPLES, FRUIT).
IT COULD BE THE ENDORPHINS THAT SWEETS BRING, SO EAT DARK CHOCOLATE (SMALL SERVING) BECAUSE IT IS GOOD FOR YOU.
EXERCISE ALSO BRINGS ENDORPHINS....SO GET BUSY AND PLAY RACKETTBALL....
