So I got my hair layered yesterday. It isn't majorly layered, but there are 3 different layers (all long enough to go into a ponytail). When I got home from the hairdressers, of course it looked all nice and everything. Today I was looking in the mirror and you can't really tell that it's layered. So I have a few questions.

1. How can I make the layers stand out? (Curling iron, blowdryer, etc. and how to do them)
2. Any good and simple hairstyles that work well with layers?
3. What's the best way to braid hair when layered? Braid it, then use hairspray?
4. Also, I have picture day for HS on Tuesday. What would look nice?

Thanks!!

(P.S. I love picking best answers ;) )

Simply keep your hair volumized by using blowdryers.

Use a roller brush to flip out the ends.

Try using thin headbands, or simply put clips somwhere above the ears.

If you're going to braid your hair, there would be some ends that will flip out of the braid. you may use hair sprays or hair gel to keep it together.

Just keep yourself simple. Don't overdo your hair. and wear a nice smile. :)

God bless.

To bring out the layers you could use a product called Satin Shine from the Brilliant Brunette line from John Freida. Just rub a little product ion your hands and pull the layers out.

A good and simple style would be just blown out, with some body in the root (use a large round brush for body).

The best way to braid your hair would be to use little bit of texturizing hair gel before you begin the braid, so that all the layers stay in place.

For picture day, you can wear your hair blown out, and just curl the ends of your hair to bring out the layers and add body, so your hair doesn't look flat.

1. Probably the best way to make your layers stand out is to first use a root lifter..(only sprayed at the root)..this will pop out your hair and make it bouncy..then I would blow dry my hair upside down..and use your fingers..then while your hair is still upside down, spray a light hairspray all over..then turn your blow-dryer to the cold setting..and give your whole head a cold shot..then flip back..and voila! ..it might be a little crazy..but just tame it down with your fingers..then if you have time for a curling iron or flat iron..curl out a few layers..have fun!
2. pinning up layered haircuts is fun..its not about making it look perfect..just by pulling up your hair..and twisting it..then pinning it..all over..it looks great...then the next day - you let it down..and its instant 'bed hair'..which is sooo in right now..also curling your hair under looks nice too, for a more mature look..
3.braiding very layered hair is hard..best of luck to you!
4. whatever would be fine I'm sure..just have fun..and experiment..and always remember..its just hair -- it'll grow back..

hope this helps some :)

Hair gel, and things like that work. Just spread it inbetween the insides of you fingers, and run your fingers through you hair. (It works great if your hair is damp) I have the same thing done with my hair. A bun , or two low pigtails work for layered hair. For hairspray, braid your hair, put hair spray right on your hands, and take your hands and smoothen them down the braid. For my picture day, I just
gelled it up a little, and it looked great. Hope I helped.

1.) You can use curling iron to make the layers come out.
2.)Flips is a good hair style for layers
3.)Just get and hot oil treatment to make your hair lay down then get it braided.
4.)Flips.

I also have long layers and I think the most noticeable hairstyle will be when its either very straight or when its straight with loose curls on the bottom. For pictures, I would wear it down..it just looks nicer..straight or curled.

answers:
1. you can make the layers stand out by straightening your hair (i do that :)) and you just straighten it layer by layer
2. i think leaving the hair down would look best with layers. or maybe just a low ponytail
3. you should braid your hair when its wet. then spray it with hairspray so theres no hairs sticking out
4. leave your hair down (remember to straighten it). you can leave it like that or you can put a headband on.

hope this helps!
