Is she an adult or a puppy???
If she is a puppy then she should be eating 3 or 4 meals a day so if she has suddenly stopped then maybe she isn't feeling well and you should take her to the vet.
If she is an adult and she usually only eats once a day then I wouldn't worry as a lot of dogs only eat once a day.
Have you changed her food and if so maybe she doesn't like it.
Try mixing some cooked vegetables in her food or some mince meat or anything that you know she likes as if you mix something she likes in her food then this may encourage her to eat.
But if you are really worried about her eating then I would take her to the vets for some professional advice.
Hope it all works out for you.

You need to get this dog to a vet for a check up if she is underweight and not eating much then you need to do that. If the vet says that she is fine try taking her out for a walk at lest once to two times a day it could be that she just isn't burning enough fuel to eat more then once a day. The walking will be good for both dog and person make it a family thing if you have kids have a family walk every night that will give you time with your family to catch up with what happened that day and keep the dog, you, and your family healthy and happy. Hope I helped.

Get her to the vet. A dog that is eating 1/3 of what she ate before and is underweight has something else going on. It is not good for a German shepherd or any other large dog to eat one meal a day. Any deep-chested dog has the potential to bloat (GVD), this includes bassets and dachshunds, believe it or not. Feeding only one meal a day greatly increases the chances for them develop this life threatening emergency.

Have your vet check her out very soon. This is not normal for any dog. Good luck!

I agree, if your dog is healthy and not underweight there is no reason to make her eat more. Also, it is always best to get your dog on a feeding schedule, never a good idea to free feed, dogs dont do well that way, my dogs are fed once in the morning and once at night. They get half if the reccommended serving size at each meal. If youre concerned about her health always consult vet, not random people on a website!

How old is your dog? I have a St. Bernard who used to only eat once a day or sometimes not at all. This happened when we switched her from puppy food to adult food (at 15 months), and she lost a lot of weight (only 90 lbs). After speaking with the vet, large breed dogs can stay on puppy food up to 2 years of age so we switched her back to puppy food and she started eating again and put back on some of the weight she lost. If you shepard is still young, I would try switching back to puppy food if it begins to lose weight from not eating.

It's normal for a large dog to only eat one time of day. I have a little dog and he only eats twice a day, and he has a little belly, so it empties faster. If the vet says he is okay, let him be.

Well I would say it depends on how old your dog is. My dog is a year and a half, he gets 4 cups of dry food in the morning, thats it. he only eats once a day also . Everyone that I know that has dogs only feed their adult dog once a day too.

You can hand feed her. It is time consuming but can strengethen you bond. However, if she is not underweight, fullgrown and doesn't have other issues it is fine for her to eat all her food in one sitting. My 80 pound Lab/boxer mix does.

give her little meals two or three times a day. make them really little so she eats them every time otherwise she would be hungry.
You should be doing this anyway cause big dogs are prone to bloat.
Bloat can kill a dog.
If she does'nt eat much. it could just be her but you could take her to the vet just to be safe.
