Even though I am not one of those your question does bring to mind the thought that believers are considered fools by most standards.

The message of the Bible would be considered foolishness by many, so naturally, those that carry that message, including Fundies, are blamed.

Sorry about the headaches. Maybe the mental state of people who are dying would clarify the issue.
