I think its funny.
They are just dreaming... just like how people talk in their sleep.
My dog does it all the time. She even has her eyes open, like she is wide awake, but her eyes will be shaking side to side really fast and her paws start twitching like she is running. Plus, she snores like an old grandpa. So... I just wake her up if it gets too intense.

It's funny. Just as I read your question, Muffin, who is stretched out on the floor beside me, started to chase something in a dream. I can tell she is chasing something because she curls her lip and her eyes twitch. When she is dreaming that something is chasing her, she whines. I wake her up when that happens, and she usually wants to be hugged and cuddled.
She's the best doggie in the whole, wide world.

That must be the only reason, dreaming. My jordon who watches chinese dramas with me almost kicked me off the bed once. You could even see the smile on his face (trust me its real) and he even makes the oooh ! aaaah ! sound, he he he its funny but its real.

Just like people, they dream. You may even notice they kick, and curl up their lip.
