I'm considering moving to Atlanta after I graduate next year. What is the job market like? Cost for renting an apartment?

Look at www.craigslist.org to view apartment and rooms for rent from individuals. It is still possible to rent in Atlanta or in the neighboring Decatur area for $500 and not live in the ghetto.

Areas to consider that are within Atlanta city proper and are close enough to downtown:

Grant Park
East Atlanta
Little Five Points
Midtown
Cabbagetown
East Lake
The Highlands
Buckhead

In Decatur
Oakhurst (Decatur neighboorhood)
Decatur Square
Toco Hills - lots of Emory students live in this area

Hope this helps.

Job market is pretty good right now. you can look at ajc.com to check out jobs and apartments. Rent will depend on what part of the city you want to live. Good luck. It is a beautiful city.

job market isn't too bad. Apartments go for about $800-1200 unless you want to live in a bad neighborhood.
