Nobody can or should answer this question for you.

Ask yourself about your ability to care for your existing children.

Ask yourself if you can afford more children.

Ask yourself if your marriage is strong enough to support a larger family.

Dont ask the net.

Nope. Not unless you are sure that is what you want- and if it was, you wouldn't be asking this. My DH was pressing me to do it- incidentally, I will be 23 next week and also have 3 kids- and when I asked my doctor he was very set against it- which was great because I realized I was too. I personally would not even feel like a woman anymore. What if ten years from now- when I/you am/are still a very young woman in terms of parenting, I/you want another child? You are told it is reversible by those who push it, but it isn't as reversible as they say. There IS permanent scarring to the tubes, they will NEVER be the same. Insurance that covers the 'tying' rarely covers the 'untying'. Try a bc that you don't have to take daily- I'm currently using Nuvaring, and while I am having certain difficulties with it, I prefer it over a more permanent measure. AND, if your DH is pushing you.....remind him that bc isn't all your responsibility and he has an option for 'permanent' too!! (And male sterilization is safer, less invasive, and more reversible than the female version.)

Are you happy with the way it is ? I also have 3 kids and I am happy with what I got at this point of my life.. but I will not get my tubes tied because once you do your done..I will do it at 36 years old because I will be to old to have kids after that..having children is something you can't explain and the thought of not having that choice to have them is something I would not want to feel ..

My sister had her tubes tied at the age of 24 after 2 children. They did it for financial reasons. She divorced her husband and married a much better man, but they can't have children together because she has had her tubes tied. They have come to deal with it, but she told me that she wishes she had waited until her youngest child was 5 years old to start considering the surgery. If she had waited she and her current husband might have been able to have children together.

Only you know if you are ready, and your doctor might not be willing to do it, you are very young. You might have to rely on birth control for a few years.

No. I don't think you should. You are still very young. By the time you reach 40, those kids will be adults, maybe married and moved on with their lives. You never know how life is gonna turn out. You may think you have the perfect man right now but people change. In the future you might meet someone and they may want kids. So don't do it.

I was reading the answers and wow these people are mostly rude about it. I am in my twentys and have 4 kids. My husband works and I work and I have never used welfare or anything. If you can support your children and have time for your children and want more you can have more. It is your choice.

Get merena IUD or norplant, that way, when you are older, and you decide you want more kids you can have them. Getting your tubes tied is not reversible, you may regret it later in life. These birth control methods, are left in for 5 years at a time.

btw, some really mean and cruel answers here. If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all!!

No!! Don't get your tubes tied until you are older. You may someday want more kids! I would get an IUD though. This will protect you from pregnancy for five years.

If you know that you won't want any kids in the future, yes get it done. I'm 22 years old, no kids and I want it done.
