I have a 4 by 6 photo that I want to make it into a poster size. I'm planning to hang it on my wall on top of my king size bed. Don't know what size that is exactly but I think its needs to be wide. Where can I get this done?

You can get a high quality computer scan but i would instead go to a photography store and ask them to make a 4x5 negative of it, then blow it into a poster from the negative. You will get some of the photo cut off....Wolfe camera used to do it. Also compare cost of getting a digital print from the scanned image from kinkos. SLIDEMASTERS in Dallas is a company I use and they are the best. They do both and are cheap.

Your greatest concern is the image quality at that size. The answer that suggested making a slide is a good way to go. Another way is to scan the photo and use software like PhotoZoom that can increase the resolution, so that the picture is sharp at your desired size. You can then print the picture at a print shop (Kinkos). If you have access to this common software, this might be your least expensive option.

Perform a search for "Photo Murals" then check out some of the sites and find out what their rates are for converting a 4x6 to a poster sized item.

Good Luck!

it depends on the quality of the original print.
As in - what speed film it was taken on - or what type of digital photo.
If its not HIGH quality, it might be a bit grainy when upgraded to poster size.

Good luck

Kinkos or any other print shop should be able to blow picture up to a larger size - just be careful that it doesn't loose it's sharpness.

You can do it online at snapfish.com. They are pretty inexpensive. Depending on the pixels of your camera, it may not look good as poster size.....
