my wife had problems with someone being cruel to her cat. This happened before we even got together but our cat Booga (like boogey monster with an uh instead of an ee sound) was about a year and half old or younger. Anyway she let him outside with the other cats but he was near the road I guess but someone shot him with a 22 caliber rifle through both front legs it shattered one leg and broke the other were the bullet got lodged in the bone. After alot of surgery and rehab he's fine now and yes he still has both legs and a little steel too. Trust me he's fine, he's just a big fat (25lbs) spoiled brat that throws tantrums when we put him on diets and loves to tear my stuff up cuzz I don't baby him like she does. After we got married I found a suspect that probably did it but we couldn't prove it. I whipped the guys *** anyway.

Every person that is cruel to animals should have the same thing done to them the same goes for child molestors, murderers, and rapist. Or just throw them in a big wood chipper.

I adopted a stray cat who was pregnant and had been mauled by a dog. The vet bill for a check up and stitches was high but she was a beautiful little cat.
Then I came home one day and she was making an uncat like moan. Her womb had been squeezed so hard it burst.
She lost her kittens but survived, I never found out who did it, am guessing local kids.
This sort of cruelty is beyond comprehension as pets are so loving. Anyone who commits such an act should be dealt with severely.
I do not think the current penalties are harsh enough.

I know it's hard sometimes to keep a cat in because they cry at the back or front door. But you know there are so many crazy abusive people out there who enjoy hurting animals. I had a cat who disappeared about 3 mths. ago and still don't know what happened to him. I drive myself crazy wondering what happened and did someone kill him on purpose or did he get hit, it's terrible. I don't understand why people do what they do to animals. I wish there was a harsh punishment for people who do these kind of thing's to innocent animals. It really should be, they should lock em' up and throw away the key.

HI there...this is so sad, but unfortunately becoming more commonplace now that the media exposes this problem. Perhaps with some sleuthing you and your cousin can determine who may have harmed her kitty to turn over to the police. It would be worthwhile to contact the local authorities because if there has been other pets harmed recently they can actively investigate. Individuals who do this are only steps away from possibly harming people and need professional help.

Here's a silly thought...wouldn't it be nice if the guilty person(s) were caught and dragged out to the wilderness to fend for themselves against the wild animals. ;-)

Unfortunatly there are pple out there very crewl to animals for there own messed up reasons. It would be best for your cousin to cal an animal patrol place and report animal crewelty. In the mean time give the cat lots ov love to let it know it did nothing wrong and that it is still very cared for.

Your cousin needs to contact the police and make a report. If a person did this intentionally, they need to be arrested. Kentucky increased the penalties for animal cruelty a few years ago because studies show that people who abuse animals often go on to hurt people.

Are you sure it wasn't hit by a car? Why does he let his cat out anyways? They are exposed to all sorts of things when let outside. Some of the diseases they are exposed when they run are deadly. There are many cruel people in the world and will do anything to a helpless animal.

Your cousin is wise to keep the cat inside now that she is hurt. Personally if I was the owner of the cat and I knew who had hurt her, I would inflict the same pain on them as they have done to the cat. Or any other animal that I saw being mistreated.

I always advise anyone. If you care about your cat keep it inside. Even the outside cats can adjust to being a house cat. I have a cat now that lived outside the first 10 years of his life. He has adjusted very well.

I also learned the hard way. My neighbor told me he found my cat in his driveway dead. Now he was known to hate cats and shoot squirrels. Not long to do the math.

We adopted my daughter's boyfriend's family's two cats last winter. One of them had been beaten with a baseball bat by some crazy neighbors and has a damaged leg.

Some people think it's funny to mistreat animals. I think it's sick.
