The ideas put forward in The Da Vinci Code are actually backed up by quite a lot of religious scholarship and historical fact. How many of you have allowed your world view to shift a bit to include these new (old) ideas?

No, I do not believe it.
The Da Vinci Code may have had SOME facts, but just as any other book or movie that's " based on a true story " authors need to put some type of controversial material in it to make it sell better.
There IS no proof to back up what was said about Jesus being married.

Which of these are backed up ? If the jesuits got there hands on the dead sea scrolls they would have destroyed them, because the Bible contradicts catholicism doctrine.

The gnostic gospels which said Jesus wanted to give women more right etc are wrong, and not hidden, people study them to this day. The scrolls actually say that women should turn into men, this doesn't sound like women rights to me.

The OT predicts the advent of the Messiah, exactly. Why would the Messiah throw away our salvation by marrying someone. If this were true, God would have to return Moses, Elijah and Enoch back to earth because Jesus didn't triumph. He did friend, the book is a nice book and talks alot of true things about the catholic church. But other then that do some real research on its claims.

God Bless!

Let me correct you. The Da Vinci Code is FICTION that used SOME facts.

Intelligent people read the Bible and get the truth from that rather than a Hollywood movie based on a sick mans imagination. Please join a good Bible study group, buy a Strongs Concordance and begin to learn the truth. The truth will set you free.

Oh, the Mormons think that the wedding Jesus turned water into wine at was actually his own to Mary M. Who knows, who cares? He was a great man whether he was married or not.

The Da Vinci code didn't start that rumor...the Mormons did YEARS ago.

The Da Vinci Code I hear has lots of lies in it.
And I absolutely don't believe Mary was married to Jesus and I never will.

Read the book that proves the Da Vinci Code was a bunch of heretical BS. These are old heresies that Satan resurrected to confuse God fearing people.

Scholarship and historical fact??? If you believe that I've got some things I could sell you.A lot of things. LOL. If you research it you will find that the whole"Jesus was married" garbage started with "Pierre Plantard" who started it as a con to get money from gullible people. Don't be that gullible

if you're interested i suggest reading 'the woman with the alabaster jar' by margaret starbird, and 'holy blood, holy grail' which is where the real facts are. but yeah it definitely is a new take on such a conservative religion, i'm glad someone brought it into light. and also watch some documentaries they made on the book and its background (but avoid the ones made by church ppl lol, cos they're really bad)...it does make sense to me...why wouldn't jesus have been married? any man in their right mind, especially at that age would have been married. and we are missing the feminine from the world...

Do not get caught up in man made rituals. The bible say what is man that you are mindful of him. Concentrate on what God is saying and not man. So Jesus was not married to Mary Madeline, it is only a historical persumption.

The Da Vinci Code is fiction. You didn't cite examples of proof so I assume you buy into this fiction. I don't believe it.
