Ok, here's a bare-bones, simple list of symptoms for you.

Borderline PD:
-fear of abandoment
-impulsivity (self-harming, sex with strangers, suicidal thoughts, impulsive shopping, drugs, alcohol, etc)
-people are great the one minute (idealization), and complete crap the next (devaluation)
-mood instability (intense feelings of anger, depression, anxiety...may last a few hours, a day...)
-view themselves as bad, unworthy
-often feels empty

Schizophrenia:
-experiences delusions
-hallucinations (sees, hears or feels things that aren't there)
-loss or a decrease in the ability to initiate plans, speak, express emotion, or find pleasure in everyday life.

HOWEVER, you need to see a therapist or psychiatrist to be properly diagnosed and to know what's wrong. Here's a link to find a therapist:

First of all, don't ever believe the results of a personality test you took online. It doesn't mean a thing. So I will answer this by saying that you should not try to diagnose yourself this way. That said, I will answer your question generally.

Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) is a character disorder, a disorder in relationship and in how a person is able to handle emotions and ambiguity. It is not a psychotic disorder which may involve delusions or hallucinations and other distortions in cognition. More than anything BPD often arises as a result of trauma and flawed early relationships. People with BPD often have very intense feelings and can move back and forth between idealizing and raging at someone. The person feels horrible and overwhelmed, though justified about these feelings.

I have a Borderline Personality Disorder, and it's not nice. I don't think I'm that messed up either...lol. I really suffer from the low self image, stormy relationships, depression, and suicidal thoughts. Also, when I'm really stressed or sad I tend to hurt myself. I take medication and get counselling, and I also try to rationalise things and 'talk myself down'. It's not a nice thing to have, but it could always be worse. But just because some flaky website test told you you may have some sort of mental illness, doesn't make it so. If you have a lot of issues, like depression or anxiety I'd advise you to see your doctor. Trust me, BPD is hard to miss, and your family or friends would have suggested a trip to your doctor before now.

It is almost a blessing. It means that (if this is an accurate diagnosis) you have a condition that is manageable through cognitive behavioral therapy......you may not even need medications....so that is good. Look at this in a good light, it is something that you can manage, it is in your control. Schizophrenia is too remote from what you are dealing with, I would not even look at it. Again no one is "normal" Some of those that I know with BPD display some dramatics, by this I mean that everything that effects them is, well....dramatic.....they also constantly test the reliability and loyalty of others.....they look at others as bad or good...there is no room for rationalization or gray area for emotions for how others react...sorry this is a crude definition...it is based in childhood- child/parent relationship where the child is rewarded for NOT being independent ...again basic
good luck..you will do well the more you learn and do not label ..oaky????

Don't diagnose yourself based on some Internet quiz. Being borderline is a difficult diagnosis because basically people with this are needy, clingy, and overly emotional. They've often had many hot and heavy whirlwind relationships that don't last long. They sort of drain the life out of people. Its hard to treat because it is a personality disorder, not necessarily a chemical thing. Also how old are you? If you are an adolescent your probably just a normal adolescent, they, especially girls, have a lot of borderline tendencies that most eventually out grow. If you really think its a problem then you should be properly assessed and start on some mental health treatment.

don't trust some online quiz! borderline personality disorder is a real mental illness that needs to be diagnosed by a mental health professional. furthermore, everyone exhibits some of the symptoms of this disorder at times. the apa has set criteria based on the duration and onset of symptoms in order for a diagnosis to occur.

the main hallmark of any personality disorder is that the person with the disorder does not think that there is anything wrong. however, family, friends and others can definitely see that there is something wrong. people with borderline personality disorder tend to have problems maintaining relationships with others. they make efforts to keep people close to them because they fear being abandoned. they have issues with their self-image. their moods are not stable and they have problems controlling their anger.

I think that the best way to describe the disorder is through the reading of the long memoir of Rachel Reiland, as told in her book "Get Me Out of Here." It is about her recovery from borderline personality disorder. Costs around $12.95 U.S. at most retail stores....you can find it in the memoir/psychology location. The memoir itself is a little over four hundred pages. There are also about fifty pages of additional resources for BPD. I recommend it, especially if you are looking to see a perspective from someone who for sure does suffer from this illness. Remember, you should never trust an Internet screening test, but they can be helpful in warning.
Good luck in your self-discovery!

Maybe it is nothing more than symptoms of stress, but whatever it is, I admire you for facing facts. I hope it turns out to be easy to solve =)

Has life been giving you a hard time lately? That can alter our personalities in a disorderly fashion~ Practice dealing with things the right way while under pressure, and eventually you will get it perfect =) If you aren't doing crazy things and you don't plan to, then I bet you are just what they call "human".

I suggest you get the book stop walking on eggshells by Pual T. Mason and Randi Kregar. It's a self help book that helps you cope with BPD and helps your Friends and family cope with it. My mother has bpd and it can be very draining to be around her. Bpd is nothing like schizophrenia. People with Bpd tend to view the world in black in white. I think you should visit a psychologist. they can tell if you have it or not. It's not good to self diagnose.
