Has anyone heard of an antidepresant in shot form. I've been on various ssri, and they work, but i go off them or forget to take them and then get depressed and then overdose on pill and now my body wont let me take pills anymore. Its all in my head but i get totaly sick every time i swallow so much as a vitamin.

Anyway i heard that they have anti depressants ssri in shot form and was wondering if anyone on here had experance and what they had to say about them. Thanks.

Yes, I believe so. However, the only ones that I am aware of are some the older tricyclics (I don't remember specifically which ones). Tricyclic antidepressants are available only with a physician's prescription and are sold in tablet, capsule, liquid, and injectable forms. Some commonly used tricyclic antidepressants are amitriptyline (Elavil), desipramine (Norpramin), imipramine (Tofranil), nortriptyline (Pamelor), and protriptyline (Vivactil).

Best to ask your psychiatrist! :)
