Yes, definitely. Now, how many depends on your definition of "out there". If you mean, on Yahoo! Answers, there's plenty of us (don't have an exact count, obviously). If, instead, you mean, in the US, according to 1999 US DoE data, about 850,000 children were homeschooled (about 1.7% of the school-age population). In 2002-2003 NCES (DoE) data shows there are about 1.1 million homeschooled students, which translates to about 2.2% of the school-age population in this country. It's estimated that homeschooling is increasing at the rate of about 10% per year.
I don't have figures by state or for other countries, but I'm sure you can find them on-line.

Well. There are many home schoolers out here if that is what you want to know! ;-)
We are a family with 4 home schooled children. 2 have graduated and 2 are still studying at home. One is now in college and one is a business man.
I know of thousands more besides us!

Yes I have home schooled my daughter till age 11, very successfully I might ad.
