your mate offers to take you to dinner to your favorite restraurant. the dinner at the most will be 30.00 for the both of you. But on the way to youre house he stops at the store to pick up some clothes for work. When he comes to get you he states that he spent to much money on clothes and will not be able to take you. You say ok because you both are college students and understand necessities come first. But the next day you talk to him he says that he is going to Atlantic City with his boys................Huh? I am angry and a bit hurt but i do not wanna sound like a gold digger what do you think.

I think you have a right to be upset. I know I would. He didn't have enough money to take you out to dinner but suddenly he has money to go and gamble. Somethings not right with this picture. I'd question him about it and tell him that your feelings are hurt.

I think you need to tell your mate this: Tell him you need to talk to him about something that has been on your mind. Sit him down and tell him, "We're college students and I understand how necessities need to come first and I am not only with you for your money but when you offer to take me to my fave restaurant and then back down at the last minute then tells me that you're going to Atlantic City with your boys, I get confused. I mean, I sit here and am wondering if I am top priority #1 and if you have time or money for me. I mean you made me feel angry and hurt. Can you tell me where I am supposed to fit in and will you make time for me?"

You should confront him because you never know what happened. Maybe his parents paid for the trip or one of his friends paid for him and in that case you will have no right to be upset. Or maybe he had the money and paid for himself in this case you have every right to be upset because he lied to you. I know what it is like to be in college and have little or no money. If you find out he lied to you you should reevaluate the relationship because a good friend would not do this. Talk to him and finds out how the got the money. You have a right to know because you spent your money on dinner because he claimed he had none.

Can you say JERK? Lose this guy. I mean $30. for two people isn't that much! He just didn't want to spend the money on you. I would ask him, where he got the money to go to Atlantic City???? I wouldn't be mad at him, I would be sooooo piss-off,he would know we were though before he left!!!!!!!!!!!!!

He needs to keep it real. It's ok if he wants to spend time with you and have cash to spend on his trip, but he should not be using you to get his meals. Confront him and tell him how this made you feel, but don't be confrontational.
