I'm a sophomore and I eat very healthy. Eat a breakfast, lunch, snack, and dinner. Bring your lunch (or breakfast) to school, as the school probably won't have healthy food up to your par. I'm not sure if you want meal ideas or just want to know how to keep eating healthy. For lunch, I have 5 oz. of deli sliced turkey (bought from a supermarket), a large apple, and a cup of milk. I usually add some Cheerios, almonds, or more fruit, although I save this carb for right before sports practice most of the time (I have lunch late in the day, anyway). Just do what you're doing. Remember, nobody can force you to eat something that you don't want to (like, if you'd rather use your calories on something else you like more, or the food is just plain bad for you) I'm going to be a sophomore and lots of kids don't eat healthily. They have incomplete lunches, sugary fruit drinks, or just too much food in my experience. Of course, you do find occasionally people who DO care about getting the maximum amount of nutrients as possible in each meal and who are at a right weight.

I think you would be surprised at the number of people who will be eating healthy. I have three boys & they are CONSTANTLY eating, but I try to keep a good variety of healthy stuff in the house. I am NOT a health food nut or into organic foods, I simply keep fresh fruits & veggies, low fat chips, etc. none of us are big sweets fans, but we do keep some at home. My recommendation for you is to take your own lunch to school. Our high school has a cafateria/store where food items cans be purchased & there are a couple of fast food places in walking distance as well as a grocery store, so there are quite a bit of choices for the students here. If they don't feel there is anything they wish to eat, they can go elsewhere. I don't know where you are so I cannot know what there is available near you school. I guess just taking your own lunches would solve your delema. Fresh Fruits, vegetables, diet soda, cheese, yogurt etc.
Good for you for choosing a healthy diet at your age & Good Luck in school!!

Does your school put out a weekly menu with the cafeteria choices every week? If so, you can check it out and decide what's healthy and what's not in the advance - then choose only those things that you've already checked off as being okay. In terms of bringing lunch, you can pack sandwiches made with whole grain bread, and healthy wraps such as one made with grilled chicken. If your school has a microwave, you can also prepare healthy meals at home and reheat the leftovers at school. Packing healthy snacks, like a piece of fruit or a little bag of baby carrots is also a good idea.

carry fresh food in your backpack and keep it in your locker. keep healthy snacks and water at hand. for lunch, try fresh salads, whole wheat bread and meat or peanut butter sandwiches, green tea, cut up vegies, fruits and berries, whole wheat pitas filled cream cheese or hummas spread and fresh or sauteed vegies and beans. apple juice, blueberry/pomegranite juice, orange juice, soy crisps, soy nuts, nuts such as pecans, almonds, peanuts, cashews, pistachios and soups such as tomato soup, bean and ham, lentil soup, minestrone soups...basically, any high fiber, high antioxidant soup. good luck.
