I know flea and tick powder is supposed to be good on pets, but I was never really satisfied with it.

Fleas are nasty, persistent critters, and can be hard to get rid of. Fortunately, they are not impossible. Thoughit's not easy.

Try this: Wash all your bedding and any other washable stuff the pomeranians sit on. Get a powder that will kill fleas, flea eggs, and ticks in the rugs. Arm and Hammer puts out a good one, or you could try borax or powdered laundry detergent. Sprinkle that on your carpets and furniture, and let sit about 20 minutes. Make sure the dogs are in a flea-free room. Afterwards, vacuum. And keep vacuuming every day for at least two weeks to make sure you've got all of the pests. Also, treat your yard in case fleas and ticks are hiding there.

Good luck!

I use Cyperkill every 3 months. It is an insecticide that gets rid of flies, spiders, fleas, cockroaches and ants for up to 4 months.
It is a solution concentrate that is mixes with water before applying.

I have my own manual "pump spray" where I put the solution with water in and spray the interior of my house and my garden (note: if you have a garden where the dogs play in, the fleas will most likely be around that area too so it is important to spray that area too) Doing it myself I don´t have to have someone come and send a fortune on it.

If they sell no Cyperkill in you area am sure there is some other insecticides that you can use

Make sure your dog(s) are outside. It wón´t kill him but it is not good for them either. You should also wear a mask during spraying.

With Cyperkill all fleas that might come off your dog in your house will automatically die for up to 4 months. It is that strong.

However, I still recommend that you give the dog a bath once the house is sprayed so the dog doesn´t have itches.

Additionally, you can apply frontline on you dog (those come in around 5 drops that you have to put on the back of you dog). That helps the dog to stay flea free for up to 5 months. It is applied after the bath so you don´t wash it off.

So remember if you want to do it yourself you will need a pump-spray (I recommend a manual one) to disperse the insecticide and you need an insecticide solution itself. That solution usually comes in very small bottles and has to be mixes 1:10 with water (10 times more water than whats in bottle of solution) Any store or vet who sells insecticides can assist you in more detail.

Good luck

Fleas are definatly one of the good lords worst creations. I have had your problem before and Im not really sure if there is a product out there that will really work like it claims but I do know this, the stuff the doc gives you for the fleas, it goes in their bloodstream and poisons the fleas right? The best way to go about gettin the fleas out of your house is to keep the stuff on them. It works for 3 to 6 months, not really sure on your brand but even over the winter reapply the medication after the 6 months is over. If you keep it on them the fleas in your home will slowly but surely die off. And if you keep it on them, next summer when its flea season again they wont live long enough on your animals to infest your home. I had a severe flea problem just like yours. the stuff from the vet worked great on the dogs, but the carpet was still infested. i tried products but they didnt work so i jsut keep the meds on the dogs and the fleas died off.

You might want to bomb your house. It is a can of spray that you set off in the rooms of your house. You can get it at any grocery store in the pet section. All the cabinets have to be empty and all food products are covered and you will have to leave the house for about 4 to 6 hours after setting this off. Fleas are not from you being clean, they are there because you have pets and they like pets.

You will need to get fogger or fog bomb @ pet mark, they are spray cans, once you start then you can't stop them. All living things must be out of the house, takes about 5 hours, while your out treat the dogs to a flea dip or else they will be right back in with the dogs

our vet gave us a pill to give our dog. we treated him with frontline and gave him this pill. the pill made the dog even more attractive to the fleas and then they were killed when they would get on the dog. i don't remember what they were called. the flea problem was resolved rather quickly, though.
