Well, I am a Calvinist.

There are many Calvinists today. The Presbyterian Church in America (PCA) is Calvinist. Many people at Calvin College happen to be Calvinist. Redeemer Presbyterian Church (PCA) in NYC has a pastor, Tim Keller, who is a Calvinist. He is considered to be one of the ten most influential New Yorkers by New York Magazine. He was also featured in the New York Times this fall, favorably.

There is also a small movement within conservative Presbyterianism to make America a theonomy. This goes under the names Christian Reconstruction and Theonomy. However, these groups are very small and exist on the fringe, even within conservative circles. Still, they believe such a government should be democratically elected (not forced).

Unfortunately the PResbyterians only make up about 10% or less of America, behind the Methodists. While the collective Baptists make up a majority with perhaps 30%, they are so splintered they don't constitute a major, thus the Catholics at about 25% remain the most prevelent religion in America.

And if it weren't for the Branch Dividian Church Islam would be sitting at the bottom of the heap, however they have more than 83 members in the US, giving them about 1%, which equals the Atheists (with 0.5%) and Agnostics (with 0.5%).

Yes, that's right Atheists, you are somewhere between the Branch Dividian Chuch and Islam in size in the U.S.!

I think the Ba'Hai's outnumber you.

Hmmmmmm What set you off? Do you know some Calvinists who are even interested in taking over America? I think you're sleep walking, go back to bed.

What? *laughs* now this one makes no sense to me at all. How can a Calvinist overtake America?

Do calvinists think they're going to take over? I didn't think there were that many of them. Don't they believe in predestination?

I hardly think that CRC has any interest in taking over America. : According to Melton's Encyclopedia of American Religions (1996: 302), the CRC had 295,307 members, 985 congregations, and 1,505 ministers in 1995.

Why do you think they have any interest in taking over anything??

It's not a matter of taking anything, it's a matter of living in God's will.
