I'm taking lexapro and I have never had any problems with it. I honestly do not think lexapo causes problems with muscle or bone. Maybe your friend have some other problem. My friend also is taking lexapro and has have prior knee problems which was on his medical record and the doctor still gave it to him, so I don't think it has anything to do with later muscle or bone problems or the doctor wouldn't of gave it.

However, like all these new drugs these days they are causing other problems that vary from person to person when they take it. Different medications effect each person differently. I would suggest you go to the web sight http://www.rxlist.com and look up the drug (you may want to bookmark it so that you can look up any drug in the future). Look at the side effects and the clinical trails and see if there is any bone or muscle problems linked to the drug and also do research on the chemical make up of the drug to see if any chemical within it may cause knee problems. Good luck.

Yes a friend of mine is and she hasn't told me of any complaints. I am an R.N. so she asks and tells me anything and everything as well as we've known one another for a long time.........so I haven't heard anything about knee pains. Look up medicines on WEBMD and put in Lexapro. I would also check with your local pharmacist also. Hope your friend is ok. I think it is honestly related to something else..............good luck!

When I took lexapro, the only side effect effect it had on me was itchy skin and rashes. I haven't heard of it causing pain but hey, its different for everyone.

It's got to be something else. I have taken lexapro for three years and love it. No symptoms like that.

it's probably not the lexapro, but your friend needs to talk to his/her doctor to rule it out. medications can affect different people in different ways.

That is probably not the cause. I use to take it. Your friend should talk to the doctor to be sure.
