I am the oldest in a family of 6. My dad currently owns 2 trucks, one the family truck which is a new Ford F-250. The only problem is that my mother is pregnant with another baby, but has a history of having multiples. I will be drving next year, but we will soon be needing a larger veichle. Any ideas? A mini-van is defiently out of the question, my dad wouldn't be caught dead driving one. Thanks in advance!

For some of the people out there who give stupid responses, you need to grow up. If my parents want to have more kids then the more the merrier. My family is not on wellfare, food stamps, or anything like that. We have money, so anything is "IN BUDGET". To the people who aren't being rude, then I thank you, I have gotten many great responses and the question's not been asked for ten minutes.

No stationwagons, vans, or school buses!

I keep on adding more details, but it has to be able to seat at least 9 people.

My family likes trucks/suv's, so I'm not getting a car/minivan/van/ or station wagons. I will get a truck next year, but we still need a family veichle. I hate adding so many details, it makes the question look really long. The point, if you know about large veichles, then please answer, if you don't then go somewhere else.

Have you seen the new Expedition EL ?
check it out @

I'm sure your Dad would drive that !

if thats not enough passenger space for your family, I guess you'll have to start looking at Clubwagons...they come in
8, 12, or 15 passenger sizes.

The first thing that came to mind was that you needed a minivan, but then you ruled that out, so the next closest thing will be a Chevrolet Suburban with a front bench seat- it can seat 9. You could also look into a full-sized van like the Chevrolet Express which you can purchase with 12 seats.

I would also consider the Toyota Sequoia, Ford Expedition, and Dodge Durango. All three, due to the recent drop in sales, are being discounted heavily so shop around. And everything I suggested consume gasoline at an alarming rate so I would definitely budget extra money per month for gasoline.

Your prerequisites fairly disqualify the more traditional forms of know transportation. Your father doesn't need to be caught driving a mini-van, let him take his truck! Meanwhile, a minivan or 9 passenger station wagon has got to be considered in lieu of staying home, shuffling shifts or bicycles! There's always room to enjoy a few laffs with the proposed solutions. A good stretch limo sounds like a reasonalbe alternative.

Chevy suburban is the biggest passenger vehicle you can get without moving up to a commuter van. If you can find an older model (late 80's early 90's ish) they often had a bench seat in the front, a split folding seat in the middle and a bench in the back. They sit 9. The newer models always have the two seater captains chairs in the front, so it drops the seating to 8.

If it is in budget I would recomend protection (condoms).
Or get a sport utility vehicle like a yukon or an escalade something large that holds a big group of people.
If that is too small then try a school bus lol:).

Any thought to a smaller SUV such as a Toyota RAV 4 or a Honda CRV. They're good on gas mileage and easy to manuever.

I have a Saturn Vue and love it. It is a small SUV. It is comfortable, nice looking and good on gas.
Plus it has a lot of the little extra's that makes it really nice.
