I am an atheist, but as far as representing pain and suffering the god of any of the major religions kills people. Christianity is worshiping a guy that floods the earth, kills first born, etc. Supposedly god made the devil, and with being all powerful could see into the future to know what he would do, and that people would worship him, so it is his will. God does not let you into heaven if you do not worship him, so he is the one that burns you (all loving). If heaven and hell did exist, I would not want to sit on a cloud with killers that said sorry, when I could be in hell with people like Gandhi. I do not believe in hell, god, etc, but if you understand religion you understand why people worship Satan. Satanism is no more insane than the other religions.

People do it all the time without realizing it. They call it White Magick, Wicca, Paganism, and even professed Satanists will say they aren't actually worshipping the devil, and they are nice people. There are secret societies that claim to be working towards a higher power, but they actually have occultic backgrounds. Satan has no friends, and he is deceiving himself by saying that Satan will protect him from hellfire. Those who have sinned most will be punished more severely in hell. Only Jesus has power over that. Satan's plan is to deceive as many as possible from turning their lives over to Christ so that more and more people will be cast into hell and make God upset. But the choice to choose belongs to all of us. Jesus said you're either for or against Him, there is no middle ground. The default position is the road to hell, and lots of "good" people are on their way there, too. The Bible says "choose this day whom you will serve".

Your friend is just a confused little boy. I'm a LaVeyan Satanist and we do not belive in the devil or a god nor do we worship either. We worship ourselves and nature. We take the name from a mythological being as a symbol for Wisdom and Human nature.

I met two young guys who said they were anarchists, I asked them what that meant and they didn't really know, so I helped them by asking "so you believe in anarchy or chaos?" They nodded agreeably, yep that's what they like all right. They seemed like nice enough guys, just intriqued by the shock value and the whole goth aspect of it. I don't think a lot of self proclaimed devil worshipers are very serious or knowledgeable about it. If you know who satan is, you know he will not honor his promises, he is the father of lies, the deciever who cannot help but destroy, thankfully he is submissive to God even now.

The devil's most useful tool is making himself appealing. He was described as God's most beautiful angel. We see Satan portrayed as hideous and revolting, but his power lies in his beauty and his ability to trick people. Adam and Even would never have deliberately done what Satan wanted them to do, but he appeared in the form of a snake and made what seemed like a perfectly logical argument. The most skillful persuasion is done by twisting the truth. This is what he excels at. Unfortunately, those without faith are particularly vulnerable.

Don't know why anyone would worship him. Whoever does sure needs some help and education, because to worship the devil will bring eternal death. Not only should you not worship him you should worship God and Jesus and keep His commandments. Only through Jesus will you receive eternal life.

There are lots of reasons people choose satanism. If satan is the ultimate liar then he uses that to move people into his worship. He can promise people the world. If you read the bible he tempted Jesus in the desert for 40 days.... but Jesus didnt take the bait.... but people are people and we get big heads and blind eyes when offered power and riches and the world. Therefore he looks attractive to some people.

Good liars often have tons of friends.

Because he is a deceiver, and tells most of his followers that God won't destroy them, and they will have the earth to themselves.

I'm not even sure if Satan believes it himself or not. But yes he does tell his followers that the fire won't hurt them, look at the spiritist firewalkers - they don't even get burnt.

Also the devil gives alot of good things; money, power, fame, success etc, but people will only live so long... Real happiness will be living with Jesus for eternity.

If I were a betting woman, I'd say he thinks he's being original and "non-comformist." It's always funny to me, though, how all the alleged non-conformists do all the same stuff to "non-conform" as all the others. They're way more predictable than a lot of the "conformists" !

I bet if he ever ran into a true satanist, he'd soil his armor :)

There could be plenty of motives for that. First one that comes to mind is a rebelion against God, i.e. because of something terrible that happened to them (which they blame God for), Or cause they believe they will recieve supernatural powers through posession, as there are books which teach such things.
