it was considered rude to point at a person, sort of like you are singling them out for negative attention, and you also pull attention to your self, and in victorian times it was really bad form to draw any attention.

i'm getting the impact that you need to no longer be the most diffused human being in the international and there is an rather good danger the fellow being pointed at ought to be certain you doing it. As to why that is rude, i think that once everybody is arguing they regularly element their finger at the different human being so that is truly a threatening gesture.

Because pointing makes the person you are pointing at think you are talking about them, and that's rude.

Pointing may seem offensive in the context of the situation. If one were to imagine a line between the pointer and the pointer, it would clearly cross the boundaries of the pointee. This may be offensive, hurtful or at least uncomfortable.

well just imagine you are somewhere, lets use a restraunt for example, and you notice this girl pointing at you and talking to her friends, you dont know the girl or any of her friends. wouldnt you wonder what they were saying, wouldnt it make you think just for a second "do i have something on my face/clothes?" wouldnt it make you feel conscious if only just for a minute. that is why its rude.

It just is. No one likes to have another point at you, and I hate to point to others. Use your words and give them a direction to go in, and a description of what/who to look for.

i was thinking about that the other day.....but put it this way, wouldnt your self-esteem lower just a little if you saw pple pointing at you? its just flat out rude it means some one is talking about you granted that doesnt mean their saying something bad but its most likely that they are saying something bad about you
