Ugghh, they are all bad. Just invest the little extra time and have real mashed potatoes. They have that phoney artificial flavor, every one I ever tasted.

Some people like them & some people hate them; they only like real potatoes. I like both, but I like most food. Lots of butter & salt & pepper is a good way. Also, if you flip the recipe around & use more milk than water in them, it gives them a better taste & you may also sustitute chicken broth or whatever instead of water & it tastes better that way. I sometimes add chicken seasoning or through in some shredded cheese & stir it til it melts. French onion dip mixed in them or something similar is not bad.

I find that instant taters are a handy staple for a lot of things. Any decent brand seems to be just fine.

Besides a thickener, it is a quick snack (bowl of taters, a little margerine, some salsa or mixed veggies- mmm!)

Great for survival kits or camping also.

The only kind I have found that is good is Butter Buds. They are like little potato balls that you add to hot water and taste just like fresh from scratch mashed potatoes. Every other one is just gross.

Yeah - I used Potato Buds. I make them as directed, except I add a little more butter and a little more milk - which makes them taste more home made.

Yes instant potatoes are very good. It is just faster to make them rather than boil potatoes and smash them.Pour some good gravy over them and yummy.

NO, they taste artificial.

But, you can mix them in with your regular potatoes and they thicken things up and make them taste better.

Best brand is Hungry Jack.

the two will save for a while basically save an eye fixed out for any growths or discolorations. regardless of those they're nonetheless useable yet you would be wanting to look for mold or discoloration and truthfully seem out for something incorrect once you decrease into them. a cool dry (and dark in case you may) place is appropriate to save them. I save mine in baskets on my kitchen counter. One significant difficulty is do no longer save them next to a minimum of one yet another or in comparable container. The onions launch gases which will velocity up the deterioration of the potato so save them different than for one yet another.

Yes, they are good, not as good as the real thing though, Just throw some butter or cheese in there, or whatever you think would taste good.
