And the cause of human suffering?

When people say my God is evil, it lets me know that they haven't developed a loving relationship with him; and they don't know much about him either. Also, it suggests that they have experienced some pain in life that they don't really know what to do with or have an answer for. It makes me want to help them, or encourage them, if I can. Pain is tough, whether it's physical, or emotional, or the pain of disappointment.

But as long as there is sin in the world, there will be pain and human suffering. And don't forget that all creation suffers too: the plants, the animals, the whole earth groans under the burden of our carelessness and mismanagement!

Love requires free will (you can't make someone love you), so God gave it to us. What we have done with free will has caused humans and all creation to suffer. God has made a way for us to clean up the earth and to reconcile us back to himself, if we want to accept his way---the way of Jesus. But again, there's free will---we don't have to accept his way, and most of us don't. So we continue to deal with the problem of increased suffering fueled by increased sin.

It won't go on this way forever; it can't. Eventually, we'll all give an accounting for our lives, and wouldn't it be great if that turned out to be a happy occasion?

Hoping the best for you...

I try and ignore them. For there is absolutely nothing evil about Christianity nor about God. And neither is God the cause of human suffering. And I always try and remember to pray for them. For the only one who truly loves to call Christianity evil, and God evil, is the devil. Therefore, whoever makes the remark, has to be influenced by the devil. So do not let it bother you too much. The devil will be working continuously until the Lord takes us out of this world; to try and discourage us, and get us to give up on our walk with the Lord. But even though he will never admit to such until he is in the fires of Hell, the devil had been defeated forevermore. So just keep your eyes on the Lord Jesus, and you will be alright.

God did not cause human sufferings...humans did...If you read Genesis thoroughly, it says that it was at the Fall of Adam and Eve when sin separated Man from a Holy and Just God. Thankfully, that same God sent His Son (Jesus the Christ) and gave his life as a sacrafice for the sins of Man to all who believe and accept this event as truth.
Therefore, God sends no one to Hell, man sends himself by turning away from Christ and try to make it on his own.

Well they have a right to their opinion, although I know it is not true.
God could never be evil, and certainly Jesus was never the cause of any human suffering. When you try to place blame on God and or Jesus, you are forgetting the most important thing- it is man and his obsessions, hatred that cause the suffering- not God, never God.

hard to deny the fact that religion has been the cause of much human suffering, but that being said i dont know anyone who would claim that the basic tenents of most religions are evil (i.e love, caring). its how people manipulate other people that is evil (and people who are "believers" are more maleable than those who arent).

I say... you're right! He is evil (at least halfway)!

Take a look in your handy KJV Bible at Isaiah 45:7. God says "I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace and create evil: I the LORD do all these things."

I would agree with them in that many do terrible things in the name of a higher power.

Do not get caught up defending your religion... this person has reasons for how they feel. To be a good person you must listen and be forgiving.

Perhaps if you do not lash out and prove them right, it will give them pause. Maybe if they never think your religion is good they will at least consider you to be an exception.

Obviously it hurts because I know how I feel about Jesus Christ, and I wish everyone shared my faith. I know many who are rejecting Him are just pulling teeth, trying to use the same worn out arguments because it hurts their pride to accept it as true.

9/10's of the people that don't want to hear, will say "Well don't you know the Bible is full of contradictions?!" and yet they can't give any rock solid examples of their own. They either have to cut and paste from some anti-theistic website, or continually throw questions, without listening to your answers.

It's their problem if they want to throw away their right to eternal life, but it hurts me when I know there is nothing I can do to persuade them. I just end up praying for them.

The cause of human suffering??? Please!! Jesus Christ did the suffering for us when he willingly died on the cross for us. Us humans are the cause for any suffering on this earth. And, as a Christian, and to answer your initial question, if anyone says that my God is anything but good, i pray for them. People who speak negative are under the work of the devil, and they will never shake my faith. So, those people do not get to me. It just makes me pray for our unsaved in this world even harder. God Bless you =)

As a Muslim, what do you think when people say that your religion and your God is evil?
