Truthfully I like to know what motivates people. Mine came from a dying friend that jestfully said that I reminded him of Frank Zappa with muscles. In rememberance of him I use The Man from Utopia .Do some use yours to think of Christ or Atheism or whatever inspires you. I see alot of cool and inovative ones. Tell your story!

I really enjoy the answers thank you all .It made me drop my guise of comedy. I see people die on a weekly basis and sometimes comedy preserves my sanity.

ok mine is boring but, name is just what I do for a living, and avatar (when you see it completely) is just me in a nutshell; surf board, baggy jeans, tight top and a purple hat (I actually own one too!)

I have been using this user name for quite a while, and were you to yell it out in the street, I would respond as naturally as I would to my own name. That being said, I select all passwords and user names by opening a book and picking my favorite word on the page. I don't remember what book I found reverence in, but I really like the look and sound of the word, and it fits my beliefs.

I am an atheist, and egotistical enough to believe that I am somewhat greater than the majority of people, so really, my user name is somewhat a definition of my belief system. My avatar just somewhat resembles me, the hair is too long, and I don't usually wear hats, but this was the best choice I could find.

I could change my avatar, but I'm taken by the notion of the steadfastness of Horse. The loyalty and hard work they put forth are amazing. I also sometimes use an aircraft instead & once in awhile my yahoo avatar.

However, I've not changed my nickname. I've been called Gypsy for longer than I can remember. I wander, I seek, I listen, I learn, and I try to put all of what I hear into perspective. At this point, it's more my name than what I was given by my parents.

They even called me this when I was little & I respond and react to it when I won't when someone calls my 'real' name on the street.

i picked the biggest bod they would give me, i have blonde hair, short and shaggy, i wear sandals and i wear capris a lot, i have a black cat and i live in las vegas, so its as close as the darn thing comes to me. oh, im not sure how you see the whole thing. the name starrwoode has been my wiccan name and art signature for over 25 years now. also the name i write under.i came by that name because of the wiccan/pagan music festival called starwood plus the fact that i lived on a hill and watched the stars with my big trees around me. so it also described where i used to live

Avatar: My appearance (as close as the perfection of the Yahoo! Avatar people will let me come)

Name: Don Corleone (Godfather) + Kaiser Soze (The Usual Suspects)

my avatar is as similar as i could get to me. some my that it as trying to be something I'm not. I'm not a guy I'm just not a very feminine female. i'm in no way transgendered i dont have anything against them i'm just not transgenderedi dress like my avatar. my hair is like his. if they had less feminine clothes and appearances for the female avatars I'd definitely have a female avatar. the rainbow in the back ground of my avatar is to show pride and support of my sexual orentation

my name I've been writing poetry for about 7 years and when sat down and wrote one day I'm very much so a stranger to the people who think they know me. its not that I'm fake there's just so much to my personality that no one totally knows me

There's not much of a story. The appearance is as close as I could get with Yahoo (my hubby and my 3 y.o. say it's close!)

The name is obvious -- it's the state of mind that brings me to this site in the evening.

Cool question, even though my story's not so exciting.
